Bubble Tea pearls were tough and chewy. Flavor was bitter.
Service was pretty ok. Food on the other hand... shame. Never ever had taiwanese food taste this bland. Tomato fish noodles, no taste from the fish cubes and it didnt quite go well with the sauce. House special fish, not sure what is special about it since theres no other discription but bland. Spicy Fried chicken was good but it took 45 minutes to serve. The whole place was empty! Still took 45 minutes! Maybe they marinate the chicken as you order it. Price: not worth it. Waste of money. Avoid going.
Tasty dishes and very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Their vegan options are 10/10
So overpriced it's beyond reasonable consideration to eat here. They're only doing takeout these days, due to the pandemic. Who in their right mind would pay $26 for a takeout of beef noodles. There's half a dozen other good restaurants within 2 blocks of BBT Cafe that offer equal quality for half the price.Even if you're wealthy, do yourself a favor and don't get screwed by these guys.
Stewed Beef Noodles. Had it to go. Ate within 5 mins of paying and picking up. I really enjoyed the beef chunks which had a nice chewy softness to it, the noodles with it's good texture & quite important hot broth.Of all the good reviews I've read onto the not so good. I didn't expect the soup broth to be without any flavour. Felt watered down. The pickled diced veggies were neither sour or salty. It was bland really. I'm sorry I said it. Ordered 2 bowls and 2nd bowl was the same review from a friend of mine (and he's Taiwanese). The meat quantity could be upped.I will not be heading back for seconds or wish to try any other dishes.FYI: utensils for takeout are extra.
It’s a nice place to grab real authentic Taiwanese food. The staffs are friendly and I really enjoyed my stay there!Edit: Owner told me that they have a lesser known rear parking lot!
I first started going here during Covid and they were super nice and caring. I would always come for the bubble tea, I’ve been to many other places, but the bubble tea here is my favourite!
Nice location with ample seating (when allowed). They have a great menu for a tasty lunch or bubble tea pick me up. They're happy to make suggestions too.
Used to be the only BBT place in the area, and we have frequented back 20 years ago. It offers authentic Chinese/Taiwanese cuisine in a reasonable price range. It's the kind of restaurant that is not known for that one or two dishes but for its variety of choices on the menu. Services are good as well. I enjoy the cozy feel and would meet with neighbours for a quick meal. Having said that, now there are much more competitions in the area. And I feel the business could use some refresh, either in its menu or interior decor. The demographic has changed a lot in the past 20 years.
