Fantastic spot on Kingsway.I’ve walked past hundreds of times and never went in. Very unassuming place.Fantastic food, I’d say the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in Vancouver.As everyone mentions it’s run by a lovely owner couple who are out interacting with guests and making sure everything is perfect.Spent a good few hours here just munching away and enjoying the atmosphere. Will definitely return and try some other items off the menu
We got a couple curries and both were excellent! The owner chatted with us after the meal and told us about his time starting this restaurant and how he was one of the first Indian restaurants in the city, at first catering to English expats. Awesome food, made fresh with care and love. Highly recommend a visit! Just wish they were open for lunch!
Hands down the best Indian restaurant ever! Hospitality and food was amazing. Rick told me I would be dreaming about his butter chicken and I sure did ? Taste delicious fresh and even the day after. Highly recommend coming here to eat!!! Would give this place 10 stars or more if I could!!! Thank you Rick.
THE best Indian food in town! This is a family run business that cares about good food and taking care of their customers. Everything here is excellent. Top Tip: if you are ordering for pickup/delivery don't give up if they don't pick up on the first call. Just be patient, wait a few minutes and call again . . . the owners can only do so much at the same time (greeting customers, working in the kitchen, or out on delivery etc).
Go first. Ask questions later. This is a hidden gem in plain sight on Kingsway —as a seasoned Indian/Punjab restaurants & foods lover— I can attest that I’ve gained so much from Rick and his hospitality. The Food is among the best I’ve ever had including among a long list in Surrey, Vancouver & Edmonton. Truly a delicious and ‘slow-food’ dining experience, yet take-out seems very popular.

Best Indian food in Vancouver. Amazing hospitality, ambience, hygiene and of course taste. The paneer dishes and garlic naan are very very good.
Support local food places. So we did. I thought it was OK. They have been around since 1980. So am sure they know what they are doing. We found the meat balls (I am sure it's not called meat balls), fish, bbq chicken dish a bit salty ... again am not Indian so not sure if this is the way folks there cook it. We liked the butter chicken more. I would say it's not the best and sure not the worst butter chicken we ever had.
Coming here, theres some parking around. Upon entering on a Saturday night, this place was empty. No one was at the front to greet us, service was slow the entire evening. Took 10 minutes to flag down the server and 40 minutes for our food. The food was great though, curry tasted awesome. Julab jamun for dessert was great. Would be better if service improved.
