We came in with a large group (10), and they managed to fit us in pretty quick. A few issues with receiving food/drink orders (technical issues), but we had multiple people checking on our table to set things right. Over all, the best stop of the night. I wish we stayed and closed them out, as they had a large beer menu, great prices and tasty options for food. Will definitely be back again. Over all, gastown was a disappointment but this place surpassed expectations.
Lots of room here to hang out (upstairs and downstairs). The beer selection is always fantastic, with every type available (sour, IPA, stout, etc). If you like a boozy dessert, try their banana bread pudding which has a generous dose of bourbon.
Update: formerly a five star review. Had such a terrible experience of being forced to move seats around while eating that I can no longer recommend this place. Food menu is no longer interesting, beer menu is half what it used to be. So sad that this formerly go-to place I can no longer recommend. I know the past two years have been hard on businesses but kindness and good service don’t cost a business anything. I’d planned on staying longer and enjoying leisurely drinks and more food, unfortunately the rudeness we experienced cut that experience short. From 2020:Go here if you love craft beer and obscure beers. We are never disappointed. Plan on spending lots because it will be worth it. Try some flights to get a sense of all the lovely flavour options. The wine and cocktail lists are also good. The rotating menu of cheese and charcuterie options is always a good bet and we always start our evening there with one of those. The house salad is simple and delicious, another favourite. For dinner, their fresh sheet is always full of delicious delights. I think what I love is that it is never the same twice - with the huge rotating list of beer taps and the regularly refreshed fresh sheet, no two visits will be the same. We discover new breweries and beers we can’t find anywhere else by visiting here. Enjoy!
Formerly a five star review. I used to be a real supporter of this business but every experience I have had at the Alibi Room in the last two years last been lacking. If it’s not equipment failures leading to them not been open it has poor to frankly incredibly rude service.Tonight I even had a member of staff acknowledge that they were aware that they were pestering me by asking us the move multiple times. We had intended to stay longer and order more courses but left as we were made to feel like this is not a place to have a leisurely meal.Neither the food or drink menus are as adventurous or interesting as they used to be.
This place offers a broad and varied selection of beers. There have a beer flight option which is really nice if you want to try many different beers.
Atmosphere and vibe are great. It was pretty busy but they didn't seem to have enough staff on hand it seems as our waitress took a long time to get to us each time. She was however lovely and pleasant.Drinks: We ordered a couple of tasting flights. Well priced and great selection.Food: We ordered the chicken wings and a side of fries. The chicken wings were okay, but not something I would order again. They were very lightly seasoned and had very little flavour. The fries were fries but overpriced in my opinion for the portion you get.
Cozy bar with a nice ambiance. I loves their French cider
Great flights, Aden loved his. Andrea got a club soda, cause her stomach hurt. She’s a vegan… Colby took forever to drink her cocktail, Aden and I finished our flights and another beer before she finished. I enjoyed the nitro brew, cool spot.
Great food, tons of interesting beers on tap, nice atmosphere, extremely nice staff
Great restaurant next to the train tracks. They have an impressive beer selection and the burger I had was fantastic. The olives are good too, they put some kind of sause on them which I don't really know how to describe but it tasted great.
