The place itself was really nice, the atmosphere was really calm and soothing and it wasn’t packed at all. The employee was really nice while we were deciding what to get and was helpful too. I got the california dreaming (the one in the picture) and my friend got the mayo spice me up and both were good but i liked mine more. To summarize, recommend.
One of the only poké places that consistently has delicious and good quality ingredients, across all its locations. If you’re looking to try poké or you’re a regular, you can’t go wrong at Steve’s.
I will never be going back. They refused my cash when my total was less than $50 (tip included) and I gave her a $50 and said keep it. She would not take it and looked absolutely bewildered about cash. It is in our rights to pay with cash and not everyone has debt or credit. It's discrimination at its finest. The food was good however absolutely drenched in sauce which does not make it very healthy.
Steve's poke is clearly doing something right. Every single location is constantly great. All the ingredients are fresh and come in generous portions. You never have to give up an ingredient you like because of a maximum topping limit. They are also super delicious.Very reasonable pricing too compared to other poke bars.If you are not a fan of poke because of another poke bar, give this a try. You can choose their suggested bowls or make your own :)
Honestly the food is delicious, however this location does not accept cash which is a huge inconvenience.I just walked in and the place is empty to ask if they still don't accept cash because I was looking to have lunch here. The girl said no, so I left. There have been more than a dozen times in the last couple months I would have eaten here had they accepted cash. It's unfortunate. It's legal tender. And it's especially unfortunate when the place is empty half of the time and they're refusing cash payments.
June 26, 2022 UpdateAfter a disappointing meal, we went back again on a second try. I am afraid the problem has gotten worse.....Here are a list of items that made it worse:1. Still no kimchi, which is disappointing.2. Portions are smaller than the last time we went, and it's a downward trend.3. We order Shoyu tuna, and they forgot to marinate the tuna....so it's just un-marinated slightly frozen tuna.4. They probably changed the vendor of the fried galic chip. It tasted overpowering now.Sigh....I wish this review could've been better because we really did like Steve's Poke.Anyway, we will go back 1 more time in the future. Hope the food will improve by then. This is my opinion, YMMV===============================A disappointing meal.I've been to Steve's Poke for a long time (before this location was opened, my wife and I used to go to the one in North Surrey, back then then still use the white plastic bowl.)I've recently this location, and had a really disappointing meal. There are a few problems:1. No more Kimchi, that's a big issue for us.2. The scoop of fish is really small. In other locations, they would use a fully pack scoop. I counted, this place, 1 scoop only had 6 piece of fish.3. Toppings is no longer generous. When ask for more of a certain topping, it cost extra. The end result of all these point result in 2 disappointed customer, whom when to have instant ramen after the poke.I understand that business are suffering during Covid. I hope Steve's Poke don't fall into the same trap where lower business revenue > limiting quality and quantity > disappointing meal > even lower business revenue.I usually give restaurant 3 tries on disappointing meals. This is definitely strike one.
Will not accept legal tender. I drove down here and there was a big sign on the door that said "NO CASH"I guess they're being progressive. Enjoy your progressive review.
Steve's Poke Bar is now everywhere in the Metro Vancouver (Lower Mainland) area. So far, most of the chain restaurants have been pretty consistent.Quality: 5/5 (at least during busy times)Service: 5/5Cleanliness: 5/5If you haven't had any Poke, give them a try.
Ordered twice now from this Grandview location. The pokes have a good amount of fish, and the toppings are enough for a small healthy meal. I have, however, been disappointed by the rice. Both times the rice has not been fresh and has really taken away from the dish. Rice is a very simple base, but looking at my experience and other reviews, this location has issues with getting this right.
First time I ate a poke bowl and it was sooooo tasty. Very friendly stuff, very clean facility. I had the spicy salmon signature bowl and can recommend it 100%
