Absolutely the BEST fried fish my wife and I have ever eaten, without reservation!!! We had the red snapper and halibut. The red snapper was absolutely incredible; beyond description!!! The halibut was firm and buttery delicious. The chips (fries) were tasty as well. I could eat here five days a week for the rest of my life!
Best fish and chips I've ever had! Great owner and staff. Freshly cut and cooked fries are rare today. The halibut is awesome but the haddock is a close second at a more reasonable price. Cod next trip. Keep up the great work. The fleetwood boys
Hidden gem in Surrey! We loved our meal and the ambiance and feel of the restaurant. The batter was SO CRISPY AND YUMMY!! Dale and his team are incredibly friendly and even stopped by to chat with us. This will be our go-to whenever we're craving some fish and chips ^_^ thank you!
I've only ever done takeout from this family-owned restaurant. A friend recommended them for their freshness and I whole-heartedly agree. They don't make your order until the very last possible minute. I live about 10 mins' drive away and they fish is often still very crispy. I've had their cod, haddock, red snapper and halibut; family favourites are the haddock and halibut - bursting with sweetness. Fried to utter perfection. Also love their homemade tartar sauce! Pieces of fish are huge! Would highly recommend!
Love this place! I am from Toronto and have visited this place twice now while I was in Vancouver and each time it has been excellent! The coconut shrimp is amazing and it comes with a very delicious cilantro chilli sauce. The owner of the restaurant was also very welcoming and made sure we were satisfied with our meal. Will definitely be back!
We stopped for lunch today and we’re not disappointed. My husband had the cod fish and chips. Huge pieces of beautifully deep fried fish. I had the clam strips with chips and homemade tarter sauce and coleslaw that is made freshly for each order. The owner came out and gave us free samples of their chowder and clam bites. So friendly and family owned. We will definitely be back
I had excellent 2 pieces of cod one night and then the last time I was there I had the 2 piece cod special and I was given pollock fish instead. It wasn't a nice experience, I really thought of this place was the best to go to, to eat cod. But now I feel the owner is a manipulator. From 5 stars I bring it down 1 star rating because of this experience.
I have been patronizing this from their opening, never tried any fish than the Halibutand it was always from good to very good.Today I tried the cod for a change and was I dissapointed!!!!Needless to say that I was not expecting halibut quality since I was not paying for it but the piece of cod was dry and tasteless, the batter provided the only taste and the fish was flaky but was falling apart at the touch of the forkI hope that I don't get sick after eating only half and discarding the restNext time I will stick to the halibut and hopefully it was just a bad choice at the wrong time
BIG fan of the fish and chips here hands down best in the city! Freshly made and the Red Snapper is very delicious and quite different from your average Cod or Halibut! If you have the chance try the Seafood Chowder It’s absolutely fantastic!
The staff are super friendly and very welcoming. The crab and cheese bites were amazing. The cod was not that great. The batter was really amazing, but the fish inside was tough and chewy, almost the texture of chicken breast. This was the first time I've eaten there, so maybe it was an off day, so I will definitely give the place another chance because of how friendly everyone was there.
