Delicious Japanese style katsu pork cutlets!Small place with a good atmosphere. The wood decor makes the place have that warm feeling. Ordered the chicken and pork, one with Japanese homemade curry and the regular with dipping sauce. Both were equally delicious. The pork and chicken Katsu cooked perfectly, hot and crispy. They had sides of sesame seed that you can freshly grind.. the kids went downtown on it.. good to sprinkle over the cutlet.
I ordered the pork loin katsu with demi glace sauce for take out during lunch. First the prep time was extremely quick and it was ready for pick up in less than 15 minutes. The pick up was really easy and the worker was friendly. For the food, I though the pork loin was great as it was still crispy by the time I got back to the office. It also was not super oily and tasted great with the sauce. The portion size is extremely generous with the large mountain of shredded cabbage and rice along with the miso soup and pickled daikon. I really enjoyed the meal and thought the service and pick up was great and friendly. I will definitely be back again to try more dishes!
The staff are always very friendly and nice. The food is excellent. This is my favourite Tonkatsu place in the LMD. Kids love the ones with cheese inside while I prefer the regular pork tenderloin.
Been here a few times and it's always very good. The karaage bowl has this wasabi mayo on top that's different but good. If you don't like wasabi though, you've been warned. The curry tonkatsu and curry chicken katsu are also good dishes to get. It's not at the level of Saku in Vancouver for this style of cuisine (no one is tho tbh) but it's still really great, especially for outside Vancouver.
My third time coming here: I've had the curry katsu and curry karaage which were both great, but my favourite that I've had here so far is the tsuyu tonkatsu. First off, the presentation is clearly beautiful. The tsuyu broth was so refreshing because it was chilled and not overly salty. I'd say the closest comparison is a chilled udon broth. The cabbage underneath was great too - added another crunchy texture aside from the katsu which was very pleasant. The katsu itself was really crispy and although I wish they had a chicken option for this dish, the pork suffices. This dish also feels much lighter compared to other dishes because of the vegetables and the chilled broth, so there's a nice balance.I'm likely going to be getting this dish from now on, and I highly recommend it because it seems like it's very underrated.
The pork katsu was so juicy and perfectly crispy. The portion sizes was generous, they played some good kpop tunes, and the servers were all lovely and helpful. Worth a try!
The food is great and the service was excellent. Friendly and attentive staff, quick service and very tasty food! Can’t wait to go back!!
Nice space and they checked vaccine card and ID. The portions of pork were big, and comes with rice, salad, and miso soup. And you get to make your own sesame powder with a mortar and pestle. I ordered the cheese pork, which was good but my friend said the original was better. Very quick service. You pay at the counter.
Average food, huge portions. Had their chicken katsu curry and it was okay. We ordered chicken karaage, but wasn't really the taste of traditional japanese (ginger, soy sauce, sake) karaage. Service was good. Can't complain.
Incredible Katsu, best I've ever had. Very well priced and plenty of food to be had. Definitely will be coming back!
