Prices are reasonable and the food is decent. However it's a mom and pop shop run by two very elderly couple where the wife cooks the food and the husband manages the floor. I went for a breakfast recently in the morning and witnessed the husband snapping on a family of six with 4 young children after they requested for two extra plates (an extremely reasonable request for a family with 4 kids). The family handled the situation with dignity and asked the server to not bring the extra plates and shortly after, left the place with half eaten breakfast on the table. It just wasn't a pleasant site.

The best breakfast restaurant in surrey! Incredible prices and beatiful ma and pa restaurant the two owners are incredibly attentive and generous. The food is delicious homestyle food, I left feeling renewed and satisfied! Absolutely an incredible experience!

Seriously disappointing. I just ordered from door dash, I spent like $20 on one dish and the portions were laughably tiny and they only gave me like a third of the amount or pierogies they advertised. The food tasted okay but it is nowhere near worth the amount they're charging for it. You either need to lower your price or make your portions a normal size.

Amazing little brunch place if you want some home made cooking style. Free range eggs, cabbage rolls, stuffed sausages. Truly a slice of 1970s today.

The owner was so rude. He is used to dealing with his regular customers. Any questions about the menu he got aggressive. Ordered scrambled eggs and it came out as an omelette. We asked for scramble and he got angry saying it was. My man, scramble eggs isn’t different it’s ALWAYS scrambled.

Best breakfast in Surrey. Eggs are always cooked perfectly, potatoes are increddible and hand made, meats are high quality. Sausages are butterflied and proper breakfast sausages, not overly spiced like most other places. Bacon is crispy and extra thick, evidentaly from a local farm or supplier.

My mother and I discovered this place a while ago, and enjoyed going there when we were in the area. The food was basic but good and we always enjoyed it. The last time we were there we were not impressed at all with the service. We got our food in a timely manner, but then the owner just sat down and was watching videos on his phone. We finishEd eating and wanted a coffee refill, but could not get his attention, so I walked up to ask for more coffee, and was told to help myself from the crate near the front, and he went back to his videos. I then had to again walk up to him to get a takeout container for the leftovers. Overall, it just left both of us very disappointed in a place we enjoyed, and most likely will be trying other places in the area from now on.

If you're into going to places for the experience over anything else then I highly recommend this place. I couldn't believe it. I'm purposefully going to leave this review cryptic for anyone who might not care about food when they just feel like they're in the twilight zone being punkd

Had an excellent breakfast with my wife on this dreary autumn Sunday morning. The sourdough bread alone was enough to bring me back to Elena's, but the casual banter with the old timer behind the counter made it extra special. I hadn't been to Cloverdale for years, even though I grew up there as a child. It's places like this that make Cloverdale special and take you to a time forgotten. I definitely will come again.

Pro choice. Awesome food, awesome service. Anyone who wants to dine our and doesn't have a vaccine passport. Breakfast food, mainly I think....and lunch. Unsure about dinner and they don't serve booze.
