Friendly staff, great service, and a very wide selection of food options makes for a nice experience ?
Service is good, as is drink selection. Food was overcooked/dry for both of the other people at my table. There were only a few other tables, so kitchen definitely wasn't swamped. Chicken tenders seems like something you should just be able to follow the instructions on the bag for, but I guess not.Edit: forgot to mention the table was very sticky.
Popped in on this gorgeous sunny day to Central City Tap House for Happy Hour.Tried the Lobster Crab Cakes, not bad. The picked did not pair well. The Chipotle mayo was good. The fish and chip was not good. Very greasy and heavy batter with a spice in the batter that definitely did not go, almost an Indian like spice we couldn't put our finger on it. Even the fries were greasy. The tarter sauce was good and the coleslaw was fresh and tasty. We also had the Poutine with Pulled Pork but forgot to take a picture. For the $19, not worth it. Overall we weren't thrilled. Service was good. I wanted to order a glass of white wine and they had not received their shipment and did not have any. That was frustrating.
My colleague and I both ordered chicken tenders today and most of the chicken pieces under the breading was completely raw - not undercooked, but actually raw. Wish I had taken photos before we sent the plates back, but we were in shock. As the chicken tenders were on special today, hope people double check their food carefully before consumption. I won't be returning.
Well, what can I say? My wife who NEVER complains, and hates it when I complain, asked me to write this......so here is our HONEST review:We got seated straight away, at a table that literally everything stuck to...gross!Our waitress was obviously very new, and could use alot more mentoring before handling tables alone yet (not her fault)I wish I had taken a picture of my fish and chips, better yet a video! You literally COULD NOT get a fork through them! I don't even have ANY clue what type of "cod" could possibly be so rubbery and tough! The 1/4 cup of fries that came with it were the highlight of all our meals and I sent 1/2 of those back with those nasty pieces of fish!My son's pepperoni pizza looked reasonable, but it's was no better than something from the frozen food section at Wall Mart, honestly it would probably loose out to a ChuckEcheese pizza!! My wife's pizza (Veggie) looked good, but was beyond basic in flavor as well. It's been a few years since we have come to this establishment, and my memory was of a fairly hip place with reasonable pub fair!If your actually reading to this point, rest assured I am not exaggerating how horrible the food is here! We look often at reviews to make decisions on new restaurants, but since we've been here in the past, we thought what the hell, but let me tell ya...save your hard earned money!!After posting this I read through a few of the other reviews, I can only assume that some of the 5 star reviews as of late are either staff friends or bs accounts!
Crystal and her team did a fabulous job with hosting our group. I needed reservations for 30 people on separate bills. Crystal ensured to have extra staff ready to go, our food was tasty, service was very efficient (water and drinks were ways filled), and everyone got their food at the same time! What a wonderful experience for our group. Thank you.
Recently moved into the area and was on the lookout for my new local pub. Stopped into Central City Taphouse for a few drinks. Was greeted with such welcoming staff and immediately had feeling of comfort. I can say that the bartop staff was super friendly, especially Naomi who's kind and attentive approach was exactly what I was looking for in my new neighborhood pub. Big thanks for making my night easy and fun!!!
I frequent this location for its convenience and happy hour. Their seafood offerings are good. Can't go wrong with that spicy Crab cake or fish n chips.
What an amazing meal. Started with the hot lobster cakes. Wow. The smoked tomato soup was unreal. The mimosa salad is so tasty with grilled chicken with just a hit of charred edges was great. The service was superb.
Sadly not what it used to be. We used to frequent the restaurant up until 2020 when we moved. We visited this past Sunday - the menu was completely overhauled. The new menu felt reminiscent of something trying to compete with the big chains. Bison and lamb?Unfortunately felt like the menu was a lot of frills but everything we ordered was mediocre and soggy. The old menu used to be the opposite. Low-key but everything delicious! (The daily specials were fun, burgers amazing and salads were the bomb!)I regret that I have to leave this review but it would have help me…They still have beer though!
