Little gems in Richmond. Hidden way out in seafair. The food is great and sushi is delicious. Great for buying some takeout for picnics. Will definitely come back

Happened to find myself in Richmond and was looking for a decent place to grab some lunch... And boy, was I in luck!! Takeya Sushi is a gem for anyone looking for authentic-tasting, fresh Japanese food! They have a great selection, too - so many of the things I've been craving for years since the time I lived in Japan!.. And to top it off... the prices are super neat, too! 100% recommended to any Japanese food lovers who like to venture beyond just the sushi and ramen.Keep in mind, currently you cannot dine in, it's either takeaway, delivery or you can come shop at the store. Might have to wait in line a bit if you order. Happy eating!
I often come here to buy their ready-to-eat bento, snacks and rice balls.Their price is reasonable and they gave meal discount 30 minutes before closing.Parking is free inside the mini-mall and the cashier staff was friendly and attentive.My only concern is the location was a bit far. Otherwise, I will come often if I work in Richmond.Come experience yourself!
I was in the mood for tonkatsu and decided to try their Premium Katsu Bento. It comes with egg, sweet red beans, rice, two pieces of karaage in a potato salad style dressing, sour daikon and carrot, and seaweed salad.The katsu lacked any juice/flavor but maintained a decent crunch considering it was 10 minutes on the counter. The karaage tasted better than the Premium katsu. Not a fan of the eggs. I was expecting them to be sweet... At least the red beans were sweet.I would not order their Premium katsu. If you got a craving, go to Katsu San 4 minutes north by car instead.
Passed-by and bought a takeout Ebi & Veggie Tendon. The sea prawn was so fresh and delicious. Will definitely go back.
Love the legit Japanese sushi place. It is my go to for quality sushi at a reasonable prince in Richmond. I know it can get a bit pricey but I still think the value is worth it for the quality of food.

Many choices of Japanese food. If you don't want to wait, you can take it and check out immediately. Sushi and bento can be made to order, but there is a slight waiting time.
Favorite place in Richmond to get good and decent sushi and Japanese food. Place the clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. I like to buy from the already made section or pre order to pick up. Very popular, so go early to choose from more choices.
