Foods are delicious at reasonable price. Highly recommended
Randomly stumbled upon this place a couple months ago and decided to give it a try after seeing the menu. It became my spot to get takeout sushi after one visit.Always received fresh ingredients, great sushi, amazing portion sizes for the price. This is a spot for budget sushi where they don't use excessive amounts of rice. Large portions can be nice, but being able to enjoy more sushi is even better.Edit: -1 Stars because the dynamite roll was made with poached prawn instead of tempura prawn. It ain't a dynamite roll unless its tempura.Edit #2: -1 Star again because of inconsistent quality. Sushi rice isn't seasoned and was too wet the last few times I ordered takeout. The Uni nigiri I received tasted like it could start another global pandemic.
Pretty decent sushi for the price. Its not a fancy joint serving up top tier authentic sashimi imported daily from Japan but more like a regular everyday type sushi place that serves decent quality for a reasonable price. I'd say it's a big step over most places like Banzai, but definitely far from authentic like Hachi. All in all, I would recommend it for "sushi lovers" that aren't after the highest grade.
Food is good, but never order takeout during expected busy times (e.g. holidays). I placed an order early in the day to be picked up at 7pm. I show up at 6:55pm and am told it'll take 15 minutes, which is fine, but then 45 minutes pass before I get my order.I wish they just told me it'd take 45 minutes so that I could do something else and come back. Instead I just waited for 45 minutes outside and when I asked at the 25 minute mark, the update I received was that it'd be another 5 minutes.
We ordered the basic single layer sushi cake for a family birthday. It was definitely a hit, especially with the birthday girl! meticulously assembled and with great detail - not only did it look fantastic, it tasted better than it looked. All the elements were fresh and delicious - and it did not fall apart when cut. We also ordered their "wowk" party tray, and yes, it was also very well put together. They are very accommodating and a well run operation. Support local small business during these pandemic days has been our goal. We're glad to have had the opportunity to try out this lovely place, well worth the drive across town!
The Valentine Bentos ? so adorable and yummy ? Magic roll ?so refreshing highly suggest ?
Very impressed by its good food! However, it's seating area is very small. They do a lot of take out. If you want to dine in, please phone and reserve a table to avoid disappointment.
Affordable Japanese food ? Taste good ? Will try their sushi cake next time
Usually my go-to place to order Aburi in Richmond. Decent for the price, and I like how soft their aburi is and their flavour of their sushi rice. I almost always order both the wild salmon and salmon aburi.Once in a while and recently, the quality is disappointingly lower than usual and so that’s why I have to deduct one star for the inconsistency.
A very cozy place with limited seating. Food is awesome! The rice for the dons is very tasty and the quality of the food is superior to most sushi places. Definitely worth a visit or ordering take-out! I have been back already and have recommended Sushi Lovers to others - who , all, agree it's awesome!
