My husband and I visited Steveston in Richmond for the very first time . The gift shops are great and the fresh seafood in the dock is amazing and cheap. The highlight of our visit was when a downpour happened and we were soaking wet with our fresh bought seafood. We found Sockeye City and raced in the door. Immediately the waitress welcomed us in and offered to put our prawns and salmon in their cooler for us. Her service was fast, friendly and so welcoming. Thank you ASHLEY and Seafood City for your amazing food and service!!! We’ll be coming back. You’ve made a friend out of us!

Sockeye City also owns the adjacent Sockeye City parking lot on which the restaurant itself is situated. I visited in August 2022 from Singapore and saw the various signs indicating that parking was to be made via app, by scan to pay, or by texting a number. I tried all three options but it appeared that non Canadian phone numbers were not able to use these options. Got a parking fine and sent an appeal in showing the screenshots with errors. Parking service provider informed me that Sockeye City had instructed it to enforce parking fines with NO EXCEPTION, and completely ignored my explanation. VISITORS BEWARE THIS OWNER who clearly nickels and dimes with NO EXCEPTION. Will never go back again.

Great food, and service! Waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful about trying different beers; Cod, Halibut, salmon, we’re all delicious.

On Aug.1 my girlfriend and I were walking the pier looking for dining options. She had never visited Steveston Village being so new to canada, so I thought let's go for fish and chips. It was around 8:15pm, your establishments front door was wide open, no closed sign, take out counter window open, and restaurant was half full. In the customers eyes that says open but the negative experience we encountered made it feel like the restaurant was making there problem the customers problem. As we entered, two servers from the upper left level sitting at a booth turned to us and yelled across the way "sorry, we are not seating anyone right now, we are closing soon. Again, as a customer and with a strong background in hospitality management, that is very unprofessional and poor management of your closing hour. We walked outside and noticed the take out counter open still but again we were denied service along with another lady infront of us. We Will not try returning to this establishment and will not be recommending this place

Had lunch hère after a whale watching tour. I ordered the crab cakes and I’m no expert but I found them to be dry (and overly fried) They were saved by the spicy aioli.

Excellent restaurant for those looking for local seafood. The Warm Crab and Spinach dip is a MUST HAVE.

The food was amazing as well as the outdoor patio on a beautiful day with my family. Couldn’t have asked for a better night out

I love the location as its on the steveston dock. I ordered the cod burger which was good but my fries were way overcooked. Now it usually wouldnt be a problem but i like good fries and i was kinda disappointed as i was really realy hungry. Lol. Beware what you order here but enjoy the view. Bon Appetite!

Well, what can I say or not say…the service was friendly, but server was hard to wave down; the food was too long in coming and didn’t come at once; calamari, fries and potatoes were over-salted; my eggs benedict had hard boiled eggs and had to be sent back; the crab cake was mushy and doughy; the smoked salmon tasted cooked; the cheesecake was so sweet it tasted supermarket-bought…and, on top of all that, there was a 18% tip charge added because the baby was counted to make our party 8 people, the minimum for that charge! The one star was for the mimosa and fish (not the salty soft chips). Sad I chose this place for Mother’s Day lunch. Maybe it’s only the brunch food that is do poorly cooked.

We visited Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf, and stopped here for an early supper. We got a table outside, to enjoy the magnificent view of the water and the boats. Service was extremely fast and efficient. I had the halibut fish and chips (“coated with our homemade beer batter, served with french fries, coleslaw & our house-made tartar sauce”) which was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place for the view and the food.
