The food was good here but the service was horrible. We ordered their famous soy chicken when we made the reservation and was told that it's available. We walked in the restaurant and were assured again that the chicken was available. Then another waitress came to take our order and told us that the chicken was sold out! It was definitely favoritism as she wanted to leave the chicken to her favorite customers and this was our first time there. We told her that we were assured of the chicken 3 minutes ago. Then she said she would go check. She came back later and said the chicken was available. I would think again if I want to come back.

Richmond is essentially a central place where you can find the best Asian restaurants. Sanbo Restaurant is one of the famous Chinese restaurants known for its extensive Cantonese menu & soy sauce chicken.The quality of food is very consistent and delicious. Our favourite dishes are:- House Special Salted Egg with Deep Fried Fish Skin- Braised Fish Lips with Duck Feet- Spicy Hong Kong Style Chicken Wings- Pan-Fried Chow Style Oyster OmeletteSanbo Restaurant has traditional Cantonese restaurant decor. You can find their chef recommendations on the whiteboard on the wall. It could be a challenge to find a parking spot, but there are rooftop parkades if you don't mind walking a bit far.
If I could give zero stars I would. The entire room went mute and looked in horror as my friend and I walked in. If you are a black person avoid this establishment. After placing our order, the waitress asked that we wait outside in the cold for our food. Worst dining experience of my life.
This is THE best Hong Kong style food I’d ever had!The sweet and sour pork is very well cooked, batter is not too thick and the pork is succulent!Lobster noodles is stunning! The noodles literally absorbed all the sauce and is just “Al dente”Soy sauce chicken is so good! Speechless quality!
Soy sauce chicken, lobsters, spare ribs, always consistent and good. Staff was professional, no sanitary issues with food. Would come here again. Portion size reasonable. Could use a better rice brand however.
Our favorite is the soy sauce chicken and the deep fried halibut! Excellent, super helpful service and amazing food. Quality is consistent and would absolutely recommend this place!
Average environment and service but authentic Cantonese food. That's enough for me to give a 5 star rating
The prices and atmosphere are a bit misleading.. When the food came the portions were much bigger than I expected. Everything tasted freshly made and cooked to near perfection. Ordered wet pan fried beef noodles with veggie hearts substitution. Very juicy meat. Veggies were delicate and yet not too soft, melt in your mouth texture.
Big portions but wayyy too much MSG and salt for my standards. I tried a few dishes including their ying yang fried rice and deep fried pork chops.
