Has gone down drastically since renovation/owner change. Before was fast and friendly service from one super nice guy. We went a few weeks ago, we walked in to an empty store with 4 employees, two chatting, another speaking extremely loudly on their phone, and the final one walking around ignoring us. When we finally were able to get their attention and order, instead of getting our ice cream they went back to talking on the phone and wandering around. We waited a bit but when nobody was actually getting our order we had to prompt them to actually get what we ordered. No wonder there was nobody there and everybody going to B&P's nextdoor.
Their Tiramisu gelato is the best, and their owner Mary is the friendliest you will ever see!
If you are in Steveston and have a craving for good, authentic, homemade ice cream go to Mary's Ice Cream shop! They have non-dairy ice cream too. My friends and I went there and met Mary. She is a sweet woman and will serve you well.

Best gelato ice cream ever!!! Real Italian ingredients used and amazing staff. The portions are big and the ice cream is just immaculate! Love this place would definitely recommend.
I recommend this place as the owner will come up to you and introduce herself. She made not be there all the time but she will surprise you thinking that she is just another customer. The ice creams are very good and there alot of varieties. When in Steveston make a stop here.
