- family run business - was highly recommended to this place and only ate there after the 2nd visit as lineup was too long - a food court place with just a few eateries in the Admiralty centre in Richmond - famed for wonton noodle , hainan chicken rice and hk style milk tea and iced lemon tea - there’s also crispy Chinese donut (油炸鬼&牛俐蘇) in the next stall - wonton noodle was crisp, springy and not soft and mushy and good size of wonton wrapped in shrimp and pork ) soup based was commendable - chicken is tender and the portion fairly sized - hainan chicken can be ordered in a set with rice , Chinese green - combination sets range from $11 with a drink - deep fried crisp fish skin is also a must try - was told that family sometime closes for trips - only stall in there with a lineup - very reasonably priced - we bought the deep fried fish skin home for the rest of the family to try and it was still tasty and crisp in the evening
Ordered sliced fish congee, the fish doesn’t taste like fish, the texture was wrong. I thought it was undercooked. Took it to the staff there and the response was “that’s how it is”. I had fish congee from various restaurants, none are like this. And the way they responded felt like they don’t really care. Not going back again.
Tasty congee and rice rolls.
Best congee place in greater Vancouver.Fresh ingredients, no msg.Delicious steamed rice rolls.???
Just okay, hearty congee, I thought my Chinese donut… was a bit extra crispy
Best rice rolls in a small hole in the wall food court. Congee is excellent too. This food court is cash only though so be prepared. Highly recommend.
The best congee in town!Hangover? Done! Feeling under the weather? Done! Just had your wisdom teeth removed? Done!Tip: Get the chicken and mushroom and pair it with the sweet Chinese donut and you’ll be mind blown.
Good congee (rven if they use methods to speed up the cooking of the base,). The rice noodles are not bad, but a little thicker then perhaps desired. Fried Chinese doughnuts are good here,
Cheap and delicious (cash only), they make some pretty good congee for only 6.50, although if you don’t call ahead there could be quite a line, fried donuts it’s pretty good too but not always super fresh
Based on the price point, the food is decent here. I can see people here gave a lower rating for this food stall or their food. Based on my experience today, the quality was quite decent.I ordered preserved eggs and salty pork congee, steamed rice rolls with Chinese donut, shrimp rice rolls and pan fried soy sauce noodles. All of them tasted delicious. And yes I agreed with someone who wrote a review here and talked about the thicker rice rolls. Normally we have thinner ones but I didn’t feel the thinner rice rolls had any issues. They were still smooth and soft and tasty. Don’t compare them with ones you eat at Kirin Chinese restaurant, Empire Seafood Restaurant or other bigger Chinese ones. This is only a small food stall running by a family.I just hope they can maintain their quality and don’t go worse. The food here is affordable. Local people come here for food. If you expect something that has a higher quality, then don’t eat here.
