As a non-Cantonese person from Washington states I think this is delicious like all Cantonese food should be. But my boyfriend is the honest judge here originally from Guangdong says both rice roll and congee is super authentic and delicious like the street food ones he had back in Guangdong. In summary, food is delicious and inexpensive. Maybe a tiny bit more expensive than the food court in Yaohan centre but the taste is definitely worth it. The combo meal we had was 12 CAD ish with both rice roll and congee.Oh they take cash only but there is an ATM nearby.
Best rice rolls ever!! This is my favourite dim sum item and I've tried it in many cities. What makes this rice roll unique is the CHILI OIL! Seriously, it is SO FLAVOUR PACKED. It is not too spicy for those that don't like spicy. Just add the oil if you don't like the taste of the rice roll on its own. You won't regret it and there's no extra charge for adding it. It's worth the long wait time and even commuting from downtown. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting Vancouver.
Nostalgic silky rice noodles!! (Pls like???)This place makes the rice noodles by scraping it off the instead of rolling itx emphasizing texture and silkiness. We got the pork, beef, and schrimp, and the pork and beef rice rolls. The soysauce is also to die for! Good prices for a nice cheap lunch located in a historic and cozy foodcourt. Unfortunately, by the time we went, the congee was sold out so didn't get to try that.
Tried this place for the first time months ago and it's definitely a solid joint if you are craving rice rolls. Their rice here seems to be in house milled which makes their rice roll extra soft, fluffy and melt in your mouth!Try to avoid weekends as the wait times can be upwards of 30mins+! Unless you are there bright and early before opening. For a hungry guy like myself, I need at least two of these bad boys to hit the spot. Highly recommend the original with Beef, Pork and shrimp! Their sauces here really hit the spot with the sweet soy and chilli oil.I got the beef brisket one as well, and found that one more to be on the soupy side, which is a no go for me personally. So if you're itching for rice rolls, give this place a try!
Really good quality rice rolls. Be sure to get the chilli oil sauce! Had to wait about 20 mins, but at least they have a large number sign so it’s easy to see when your order is ready from anywhere in the food court.
Hei Hei Rice Roll is located inside Richmond Public Market Food Court. I got Shrimp & Char Siu Rice Rolls. They were delicious! Price of Rice Rolls ranges from $5.50 (Plain) to $12.99 (Black Truffle Seafood). It's a simple way to enjoy rice rolls without dining in for Dim sum. They also have congee.
Really tasty rice rolls at this place. We found them to be very soft and had great flavours. Overall, I would recommend getting the rice roll with pork, shrimp and beef for 8.50$. The sweet soy sauce and chilli oil really made the flavours better.
Best rice roll I have ever had in Vancouver, very thin and smooth, recommend to have the beef rice roll. Just the wait time is a bit too long, better make a reservation before coming over.
Was so excited to try this new rice roll and congee place at Richmond public market food court! Ordered the rice roll and congee combo for $11.99 and loved the pork liver rice roll but didn’t care for the minced beef century egg congee as it tasted quite watery and didn’t have a lot of toppings.I usually love anything osmanthus but the most disappointing thing was the osmanthus rice wine tofu drink ($5) as together the flavors just tasted like it was about to go bad. Will go back for the rice rolls though!
It has been a long time I crave for rice rolls and finally I found the best rice roll that I had so far.I heard the line-up for this place is really crazy, but maybe I was lucky! I didn't need to line-up and just waited 15min for my food. This is the first time I tried this place and their rice roll is so soft and silky. They are super generous with the amount of truffle, scallops, shrimps, and egg ($1.5 extra).Don't forget to add the sauce and chili oil to make it more tasty. Some ppl might find it little bit pricier, but hey! better to spend more money and get better quality than not enjoying your food.If you order the truffle one, you can add any congee with only $4.50! I chose the beef and corn one. As for the porridge, it's regular porridge, but for some reason I love it so much. The cashier is very nice too. It took me forever to choose since this is my first time went there, but she didn't rush me at all eventho they are so busy (especially with their online order)Anyway, this place is worth to try when you are around Richmond area, definitely I will come back when I go to Richmond.(Tips):• Ask for chili oil! It’s a must!• You can get any rice rolls (except truffle) with any congee just for $11.99• For the porridge, don’t order the corn one (in my opinion, it just not a good combination), so you can order either beef (with egg or preserved egg) or seafood.
