The quantity and quality of the food at Happy Day Cafe is fantastic! My parents and I ordered the lobster combo with two dishes for $87. It comes with complimentary soup (pork soup broth with picked vegetables and carrots) and red bean soup for dessert. We chose the House Special Chow Mein (crispy noodles with seafood, vegetables, and BBQ pork) and seasonal vegetables with egg tofu. Everything was made perfectly. So much so that my dad was raving about the broccoli more than he was about the lobster! We had lots leftover as well. I recommend this restaurant for great Hong Kong style dishes!

I had breakfast here with my husband this morning. I found a piece of plastic inside my macaroni. I told the waitress about this case in a very peaceful tone. She replied me right away without thinking "What do you want ? I was so shock with her reaction. " I just want to let you know I found this piece of plastic in my soup of macaroni. I didn't want anything from you. " This is a horrible experience for me. It seems that she is the one who is victim not me. I will never come back again because of the unhygienic food and rude services.

Went with 3 orders on a cold evening so we decided to order their promotional winter set meal (御寒三寶) with foods that are traditionally suppose to warm you up. Interior is super clean and bright. The complex the Cafe is located in has a parkade which makes this a good location as parking in Richmond can be a challenge.Service was polite and the waitresses were patient to explain the dishes and ingredients. The end of the dinner we were also served complimentary mung beam soup.Would come again if in the area!

Tasty and good. Have been there several times even with vovid!

Looking for a decent Hong Kong cafe? Happy cafe is always a great place to go. Their breakfast combo are well priced and filling. Some of the waiters don’t speak english but, they do have english menus.

When I was here later in the evening with a friend, it was quite quiet. There was no line-up and no crowd. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable. I ordered a fried rice and it came quickly and it was very well made. It has comfy interiors too. I will come back again.

It's Christmas morning and we decided to come here for breakfast, one of the few places open. When we arrived at the front door where lots of people were waiting, we waited for about 10 minutes before a staff member came to check our vaccination passports. It took less than 5 seconds for me to take out my ID, but the staff started to complain how slow I was. Ironically, the man before me forgot his ID, and she let him enter. She pointed in the direction of our table and expected us to guess which table she wanted us to be seated at, so we just sat at a random table we chose, which happened to be a huge table meant for 10 people, for the three of us. The multilingual menu with all its combinations and options were extremely confusing to us. We had beef congee, steamed rice roll with dried scallops and satay beef vermicelli, and an egg sandwich. They were all very authentic Cantonese food, delicious. All combos came with a free drink and the price was very reasonable, good portions, too. I would have given them 5 stars but had to take one away because they were rude.

It’s good but the pineapple bun is so disappointing. Was cold and butter is thin and not melted . I didn’t even end up eating mine.

If one wants less quality than mall food this is the place to go. They give you lots of food and for some this may be okay but it is prepared in a hurry with cheapest possible ingredients. My appetite was simply ruined by how the tomato with spaghetti came with the runny sauce dripping towards end of the plate, spaghetti cooked to the point of mushy and the meat tenderized in cornstarch with no marination. Prices are at dinner time more expensive than others of better quality. They charge 50 cents for each leftover container . The surprise comes when they tell you they don't accept any credit cards and it is not written anywhere.

Server demanded tips from a customer received a plates of raw meat of sweet & sour pork, its is true because I showed the plates to one of the server. Outside is nicely deep fried but inside raw. I need to tips more than enough in order for her to let me go. Its a shameful. For the record i didn’t ask for free food or anything. I wrote this because tipping is based on value of food & customer service. Not from crappy food & service.
