The coffee was okay. But poor service. The female staff did not greet nor introduce anything in the menu. But it’s okay, since I have been here before. I know what to order. The owner who used to be in the store was way nicer. But he was not here this time…I was there by 4:15pm. After I ordered my coffee, she warned me that they were closed at 5…. Right. There’s almost an hour till its closing time. She showed an attitude that was not welcoming at all. She didn’t ask whether I would want it to go or for here. She decided to put it in a paper cup for me. So she could make sure I could leave soon.I was told to leave the cafe at 4:45pm. And I was surprised … there’s still 15min to go, right? I explained that I was there to wait for a person to come by. So I was not intend to delay my departure. But she insisted that she needed to clean up. She wanted to lock the door sharp at 5pm….Alright. I was there only for less than 30min. This’s my worst experience in a cafe.I liked their coffee, but I won’t be back for that kind of service.
Great place with great tasting coffee and dessert. I ordered the Caramel Machiatto and the Uji Matcha cake. This was great tasting coffee compared to other brands. The beans they used were rly good. But the match cake delish~~ Very smooth but not too smooth. The only caveat is the place is too small and not really convenient. Skytrain station is quite far. Still worth coming just to get the coffee and cake.
Great caffe latte and a very relaxing atmosphere. Seating is limited so keep that in mind if you want to dine in and there's a 1.5 hour max for seating.
There are just a handful of specialty coffee shops in Richmond, and Fresh Press is one of my favourites to visit. They’ve got a great rotating lineup featuring coffee from across Canada and whether espresso or filter coffee, you can’t go wrong. It’s tucked away in an unassuming nook, giving it hidden gem vibes. A great spot to follow up after dim sum at Sun Sui Wah :)
My go to coffee joint in Richmond. Always great tasting cappuccino and very warm and friendly service. Before you try a specialty coffee drink from other places nearby, check this place out first. One table and counter top space so not much a sit down and gather place.
Fresh Press has absolutely fantastic coffee and pastries - we've been here for morning coffee and have been super impressed by the coffee and waffles. We've also ordered cakes from here for parties, and have been super impressed by the beautiful and delicious homemade cakes. Highly recommend!!!
First time visitor this morning from Victoria. I love supporting small independent coffee spaces especially when the owners really care — like Fresh Press. I had a wonderful triple-shot Oat Milk Latte (I found out after they make their own almond milk which I will try next time.) Their in-house almond cookies were exceptional. Thank you and look forward to seeing you next time!
Richmond does not have a lot good non-chain coffee shops so we were happy to see this place by Lansdowne Mall. It is a small shop run by a couple. The owner pays a lot of attention when making the drinks. We ordered a latte and matcha latte. Both had nice looking latte art. There's not a lot of seating though. Just a table and a small counter by the window for maybe 3 people.Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
I was surprised to see a coffee shop with such good reviews close to home so I decided to stop by on my day off. I was immediately greeted by a cozy atmosphere and warm service. The place has a few tables where you can make yourself at home (during COVID there's a sitting time limit of 1.5 hours). I had a flat white and a matcha waffle. The flat white was one of the best I’ve had (and I’ve had many) - it was smooth, not bitter, and aesthetically pleasing. I originally wasn’t planning on eating anything but the pastry display was too tempting so I opted for a matcha waffle on the recommendation of the barista. I loved the slightly chewy texture and the sparse sugar crystals throughout gave a very subtle sweetness which was exactly what I wanted. I will say I couldn’t taste the matcha very much but this wasn’t a big issue for me. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other high-quality coffee shops. Overall, I had a wonderful experience doing work in this welcoming and relaxed environment. I’ll definitely be back in the future.
It’s INSIDE the center so you must park and then walk in. Food pre-prepared then heated. And this is edited after your response! Google maps took us to the parking lot, we parked and had to look for the coffee shop!
