I wasn't going to write this review because we did get a full refund in the end, but.. I felt responsible warning other customers about our experience. My wife ordered the 2 piece cod and as she was eating her second piece she looked down and noticed something sticking out of her filet. At first she thought it was a vein and pulled on it.. and then quickly realized it was something worse. She gave the piece to me to inspect, too scared to look at it. And I confirmed it was definitely a parasitic worm that was embedded in the batter. She nearly puked because she almost bit it in half and has an extreme phobia of worms already. It has been very traumatizing for her.

As locals we regularly come to Dave's for our fish and chips "fix". In fact we have been coming here since it first opened, probably at least 40 years ago - prior to that Dave had a take-out place just north of here. And they still do take-out at the back. The portions are generous, always well cooked and presented. Beer choice is good, staff are friendly. Be aware that this is located in a tourist area and can be very busy on a weekend or holiday. Recommended
Had the two piece cod and chips.Excellent fish, batter not too thick.Haven't been to Dave's for a few years but it was like years ago. ( worth the visit)
Fish and chips is fine, but the clam chowder was very disappointing. The new England clam chowder (the classic white one) is extremely watery with very little food bits, nothing like how it's supposed to be. At $10 for the large - which isn't very large - it is not right. Hopefully you can see from the photo, the consistency is extremely thin

We will up this one to five stars. After going back multiple times and bringing friends and family here, time after time it simply doesn't disappoint!! The cod, salmon and halibut are all excellent as is the clam chowder and even something as simple as the small helping of coleslaw that comes with most orders gets eaten up with delight every time! Give it a try if you are in the area. It is as fresh as it gets!! And the service is friendly and cheerful! :)
Fresh, full of flavour, superb service and a price you cannot beat. Dave’s Fish and Chips provided a hearty lunch during our visit.You have a CHOICE over 3 different fish for the fish and chips. We sampled the halibut and cod and both were delicious. Will definitely return in the future.
We ordered halibut fish and chips; and onion rings. Everything was fresh, and delicious. The coleslaw was really good!Staff were nice.
Went with a friend. Ordered halibut and chips. The food was delivered quickly, nice and hot! The fish was a generous portion as were the chips. The waitress very friendly and accommodating. Yummy food! Recommended!
