Cloud 9 Delicacy (雲頂) locates inside the food court of Empire Centre in Richmond BC. Its foods are delicious yet with big portion and low price.It's run by a couple. The husband looks after cooking and the kitchen while the wife takes orders in the front. In addition to great foods, they are very customer centric and always try to walk extra miles to satisfy the customers even before being asked.In return, they are very popular and welcome by the community. For walk-in customers, be prepared to wait especially during peak time. Better place order by phone in advance and be reminded to bring cash as they don't have card machines.
We came on Apr 23 to try the food here based on the awesome recommendation from friends and the online reviews. We arrived at 5 pm and selected the salted chicken combo (鹽酥雞飯) which according to the sign was $12 including broth soup, rice and 5 side dishes. The server advised they ran out of soup containers, but would not agree to my suggestion by compensating with more rice. I further asked if soup would be served if we came back next week, and then she confessed that soup is no longer included. We ordered the combo anyway, and it was ready in about 5 minutes. The salted chicken was indeed awesome. It was moist inside, and seasoned well with salt and what tasted like Chinese five spice, resulting in a slightly crispy (not crunchy) coating. The rice was hot but a bit mushy. The vegetable side dishes were scooped up from trays sitting under the glass counter (not freshly made like the chicken) and were hit-and-miss. The spicy tofu was good, the green beans tasted fair but was cool (not even lukewarm). It tasted like they had removed it from the fridge a while ago but it has not even risen back to room temperature. Naturally, the server (even though she was polite) denied it by claiming it had just cooled off from sitting out too long. So I deducted one star for the unsatisfactory side dishes, and another star for the server's less-than-forthcoming responses. Finally, some reviewers gushed about the large portion size ("enough for 1.5 persons"), but what I received today was just about right for one person (and I'm not a big eater). But still, the $12 provided good value (especially in today's climate of high inflation).
Can’t believe I’ve not known this place having been in Richmond for the last 2 years. For $12 each, you get a generous portion of a dish + 5 sides + rice and a soup! I love the 盐酥鸡 popcorn chicken and the fried pork chops 炸排骨 was so tender and flavorful!
I have been here twice. The food is super authentic Taiwanese/Southern Fujian Cuisine. The price is quite reasonable, in fact, surprisingly cheap for the portion and quality. Highly recommend this place.
Incredible and authentic. Try the wontons in chili sauce. Bring cash and pictures of what you want if you don't speak the language (no English).
It’s was located in the Empire Centre food court and I just ordered a small noodle with chicken nuggets, the taste is good and the price is affordable, only $11.00 for lunch, very reasonable. The owner is very polite and helpful, will recommend.
This place is gem, even as a non Chinese speaker. It has delicious comfort food and is priced well. More than enough food for just $11. The owners are also really kind, they spent more time making sure they got my order since I gave it in English. Once had to wait 30 minutes since they were extremely busy and they apologized over and over for the wait. Definitely worth it though!
Best bento boxes I have ever had. Pricing for the boxes is extremely affordable, and pretty much nothing here tastes bad. I have been to this restaurant multiple times, and the food here is always perfect.
The fried chicken pieces combo was really good. Overall it was tasty and good value. I will definitely be back again and would highly recommend others to try it!
