Delicious dim sum! One of the most memorable restaurants in Vancouver / Richmond! Every dish was made fresh with quality ingredients, from the usual ha cau and bbq pork bao to their specialties like truffle siu mai, fried cruller with shrimps (amazing!), black cuttlefish dumplings and egg white tarts. Please come and try for yourselves. I'm sure the other regular dim sum places are delicious too which I would have to try next time I'm there. But Chef Tony's was special. And I have to agree with everyone who recommended it. I called for reservation and did not have to wait. Although it did not look as busy on a Thursday morning.
Great ambiance, dimsum was good except for the couple of dishes which most of us thought the truffle overwhelmed the delicate taste and texture of the shrimp. We had a great dining experience overall. We were able to find parking at 1000 in the morning but it looks like it can be challenging later in the day as most of the parking spots were marked 30 minutes.
I always enjoyed their smaller size for dimsum which means… i get to order more than usual!
Great place in Richmond for Dim Sum. Been here a few times over the years. They change the menu and style of some of the dim sum every now and then, but flavors are always good. The only downside is the location. The strip mall parking lot is hard to find space, as lots of the spots are 15 or 30 min maximum time.

STEER CLEAR!! If you’d like to waste your money on non edible food and be treated badly go here. By far the worst experience I’ve had in Vancouver/BC. It almost seems as though the staff goes out of their way to ignore guests. If you’re not Chinese forget about getting more than one or two words spoken to you. One of the staff members pulled the menu right out of my hand as I was looking at it and also returned mid meal to close out the bill. Horrible service, but what is an even bigger issue is that all the food brought out was not good. Shumai was very generic, black truffle was horrible and don’t even get me started on the black tofu dish. All three were supposed to have a spin on them. DON’T BE FOOLED by the hype surrounding this place. It may be good when they know a food critic is coming but for a normal visit prepare for subpar food, and downright nasty service. Did I mention that after I closed out, mid meal mind you, the waitress looked at the tip and threw the receipt at me. I paid money to eat horrible food and be treated lousy. Never again! Wish I could give no stars.
Dim sum Sunday. Chef Tony is packed on weekends. I reserved seat ahead but still waited for half an hour to be seated.?black truffle chicken- ok this is bomb! If you love truffle sauce, you would absolutely love this dish. Their chicken is so tender and well seasoned. 10/10?Black golden ha-gow- this tastes no different than the normal shrimp dumplings, but even smaller in size with less fillings. The price is higher because its fancy presentation. 6/10?bitter gourd and chicken shred rice noodles- I like this! Bitter gourd rice noodle is so unique, not very strong but u can taste it’s presence. I love the texture of their rice noodles! 8/10?Abalone and mushroom pastry- Again, fancy presentation. I noticed that the element of abalone is just it’s appearances, there is no abalone in the fillings. But taste ok, the pastry was too oily for me. 7/10?black sesame egg tart- I am not a big fan of this egg tart. It made me questions whether there is enough egg yolk content. It tastes like milk tart rather than egg tart. 6/10Good food quality and ingredients. Would I come again? Probably not. Maybe it’s because that I had very high expectation of their dim sum, a bit disappointed to the overall experience. And total came to? 90+, I think this is a bit over priced.
Pricey dim sum but worth it for the experience! I loved their unique takes on traditional dim sum dishes, especially the ones with truffle. My personal favourite was their lava egg custard buns, which had ample amounts of delicious filling inside. The black sesame milk tarts were also good. Everything was made fresh and super tasty. Service was also pretty good for a Chinese restaurant/dim sum place.
Taste really good! moderate service. It’s a fusion of modern taste and traditional dim sum!
Every single dish was perfectly cooked with high quality fresh ingredients and flavors were delicious not too oily or salty. The vegetable dish ( mixed king oyster mushroom, wood ear mushroom , snow peas, shrimp stuffing medley) is definitely one of my favorite and one of the best I've ever tried ever. The eggplant dish was also fantastic and one of my favorites it was so smooth, soft, warm and just melted in your mouth like a truffle would and the best I've ever tried. The crab meat and fish maw soup was fresh, clean tasting but not as flavorful is I wish it could be even if I added the vinegar and white pepper it was still lacking a bit of crab/ shrimp flavor. The only thing I noticed was when the clams came out the dish wasn't wiped down and the sauce was all over the serving bowl so presentation was still lacking but the clams and oyster sauce was very delicious and the best I've ever tried despite no black beans mixed in it .Chinese Red tea was good and always at warm temperature but not my favorite in taste since I prefer jasmine or oolong tea in general ( would've been nice if there was a tea menu)Although I wasnt greeted as I walked in and it took a few minutes for staff to notice I was there even if I called prior to, my table was prepared for me before my arrival . Staff was very pleasant and accommodating, dishes came out very quickly; temperature was perfect.Clean classy table setting with chopsticks on holder. One chopstick for grabbing food items and one for eating but had to request for a small bowl when I started eating and no hot towel service available.Complimentary green bean dessert was delicious and very light on the sugar which completed the meal perfectly and I prefer dessert not to be saturated in sugar. As far as the washroom one of the faucets in the ladies washroom is broken so needs to be repaired and the countertops was quite messy with water and soap all over so needs improvement on cleanliness since I couldn't put my bag down to wash my hands and the restaurant wasnt busy at all.Overall I would definitely still eat here because the food is excellent even if I was expecting top high end service based on the price point. Can't wait to make it in for dim sum one of these days its very challenging to get a seat on the weekends and it looks so good.
