My son has dropped in a few times and told me how much he enjoyed it, and had to pay them a visit.The place is beautiful inside, with such a "Home" feel to it! They have a roomy and comfy indoor seating area, with an outdoor patio area. The food is amazing, generous portions, and the staff are great! Definitely a great place to take family, friends, co-workers, or a nice lunch or dinner with spouse!Highly recommend and will return to try other menu items!
Wasn’t impressed too much but definitely a doable spot while waiting around.. I’d give it 3.5 star rating as the burger was to dry, the mushrooms barely existed and the garlic fries wasn’t worth the extra $5 … the poke bowl was okeish again rice was too dry but can’t go wrong with salad ??

We reached out to BWAK to cater our 100-person wedding back in 2021, and we were immediately blown away at the tasting. More than any other caterer we reached out to, they took into account what we were looking for and created a super customized menu that somehow managed to bring together Chinese and Ukranian flavours into a pescatarian feast with lots of vegan-friendly options. In the lead up to our wedding, Joey at BWAK worked closely with us in figuring out the schedule and logistics, and took a lot off our plates by managing rentals, set-up, etc.On the day of the wedding, everyone at BWAK went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely and also very professional, and went above and beyond - including replacing a few lightbulbs in the venue that had burnt out, without us having to say anything! - and kept everything running smoothly.And the food was absolutely delicious: everything perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and enjoyed by all. I had the privledge of helping a friend with her Celebration of Life for her mom. I had contacted about 5 caterers but Boy with a Knife stuck out to me. I loved their selection of platters, the variety and the choices for vegetarians. Tanya and Joey were so easy to deal with and so accommodating. The presentation of the food was beautiful and so very tasty. I would highly recommend them and would use them again without hesitation.
We happened upon this unexpected, tucked away gem yesterday! I am on the road for work a lot, and have had more than a couple of burgers ans deli meals jn my travels, including a couple of places from Diners, Drive Ins and Dives (Bartleys in Harvard Square, Manny's in Chicago). The burger I ordered (Miso burger) was the best I have had, period. Also had their corn chowder, amazing! My family raved about their food as well. Great service, fun servers, friendly chefs and an adjoining market to boot! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
4.5 * we have only had bwak for lunch and it has always been good to great. Looking forward to some nicer weather and a lunch or two on their patio.
We hired Boy With a Knife for our wedding in August 2021 and I regret it every day since then!Their food is delicious; yet, their event management and execution was an absolute disaster! And how they handled it after my complaint, was even more disastrous! Very very unprofessional, unapologetic, and discourteous!I am a chef myself and I’ve been operating a small catering company in Vancouver since 2014; so, you can imagine how important it was for me and my husband to serve the best food at our wedding!We went for a tasting in January, and we loved it! They truly nailed it with taste and presentation! But on the wedding day we were really disappointed!I am going to keep it simple and try not to go through details as much as possible!The service was an absolute disaster!1. During the dinner time I (the bride!!) had to go to the kitchen 3 times to see what is going on with the food!2. unorganized and nervous looking servers running around unsure of what to do; our wine and water glasses were empty the whole time! The whole service was a mess!3. Everything was served very cold including meats! Every dish looked so sloppy and most of them served in wrong order4. Salads were nothing compared to what we tasted! Wilted greens with few hard to find, tiny toppings! Some plates were even missing the dressing!5. Every dish was plated in a shockingly sloppy and messy way and were missing garnishes (apparently, they messed up the rental dishes, so they plated some items together in a pile!)6. Visually none of the food items looked anything like food at tasting session!7. We had very important family members with dietary restrictions and none of them got their designated food served properly! The whole thing was quite embarrassing!8. During the planning I could feel that some of their planning did not sound right so I was trying to help with suggestions, but they repeatedly showed full confidence in what they are doing, and I made the mistake of trusting themAs I mentioned, the worse part was that they didn’t even take responsibility after I let them know of our terrible experience and kept bringing up excuses to justify what happened!
Had lunch at the grill two days in a row - the Miso Bacon Mushroom burger and the old school bacon cheeseburger. Both were delicious and very satisfying. Friendly service. They have a small patio. Would come back if I was in the area.
Amazing AMAZING food! Such a beautiful place to eat. Honestly try anything. The fried fish sandwich was a dream come true. Nuggs and fries.. I could eat it for the rest of my life. Seriously. Eat. Here.
