Bought takeout sushi today for dinner. The portion of rice is so big it’s not very appealing. Half way into the sushi I found a super long hair roll into the rice ball. Super disgusting. ??will never go back and I highly don’t recommend this restaurant at all. I am reporting this to the public health for follow up. This is unacceptable.
I've been coming here for years and honestly I always loved this place. It's near my house, cheap and big portions. But recently there has been huge inconsistencies with their food. Especially with the house rolls. I've spent thousands of dollars here over the years and they can recognise my mom or me whenever we order takeout so I honestly didn't wanna write this but the consistency is just garbage now. Either it's good or its not. Feels like gambling honestly. I'll let the pictures show and you can see if it's worth gambling yourself. The first picture is what I got today vs what I got a couple weeks ago. If it was just once where the house roll was just a fake crab meat roll I wouldn't have minded but this has happened more and more frequently as of late. Hopefully they can improve but I doubt they care about online reviews and I'm honestly done taking chances on this place every time. I rather pay more for better consistency.
Great spot for sushi party trays, especially because their portions are huge, making it really great value! I have been a fan of this place for many years and still go there to this day! Their trays (which come in boxes btw) are great for potluck parties and more. You would always get a “wow, that’s huge!” kind of comment, guaranteed! ?From my experience, their sushi has been fairly fresh and the service has been pretty good. You can call ahead to order and pickup is always very prompt. Just make sure you bring cash as they do not accept cards (but hopefully in the future?).
Thought we’d try something new but sad to say, our take out meal was very disappointing. This place is quantity over quality.Presentation was good but that’s about it. The wasabi didn’t even taste like wasabi.. the shrimps were artificially pink.. the dynamite roll was really unsatisfying. We will not be back and we do not recommend this place.
Ordered food at 530pm, they confirmed my order, and made no mention of cash only. They say it'll be ready for 6pm. I get there and see the signs for cash only so I go get cash. I come back and they say they don't have my order. They can make it from scratch now. It's now 648pm.They don't do much to compensate for their compete screw up. 5% off for wasting a ton of time.Eat elsewhere, unless you like to take chances.
Ordered this party tray for friends gathering! Their portion are as HUGE as always!!!! Those sizes are impressive and you will never forget to order this for party, cause everyone will be satisfied for sure! For the sashimi, not really recommended as you can tell they are not really fresh compare to other Japanese restaurants.Anyway, it’s good to order their sushi and for parties!
Always my go-to stop whenever I land into YVR - better put, it's where I choose as my "welcome to Vancouver" food. The fish to rice ratio is a dream, and the portion is humongous. Although the place is small and the ambient has nothing special, but the food (sashimi/sushi) is what you come for. Super fresh, thick slices, well-preserved flavours, AMAZING prices - what more can you ask for!Pre-covid dine-in, there was some wait time. During covid, it's take-out only.
Worst customer service, I proceed to pick up my order put a day prior and are telling that I never put an order and later on told me “sorry we have your order” came home and two orders are missing. Called to get a refund or my food but just got told give me your number and I’ll call you back still no call back!
I had the spicy tuna roll and dynamite roll, there was way too much rice wrapped around each piece, and they were not put together very well, I ended up just using my hands to eat since each roll kept falling apart when I tried picking it up, it was really hard to eat. Also, the spicy tuna did not seem to have any spicy sauce on it, it just appeared as a tuna roll. The dynite roll was mainly avocado with one small prawn tempura inside. The miso soup was good, lots of tofu. The prices are quite good for the area, would maybe return but would call ahead to request more spice and less rice!
Pro: short waiting time after ordering. Giant portion if you are a member of Buffett club.Con: DO NOT go there if you are looking for good customer service or food quality. It's like fast food sushi, like McDonald. So rude!Never go there again for me!
