Located close to Lonsdale Quay, offeing good variety of yummy sushi rolls and sashimi. The downside was that their classic rolls was not very good but the special ones were great. Our favourite one was Angry Jalapeño roll.Try their Salomon sashimi nachos as well as their sushi pizza. The pizza is a very interesting concept as they use 4 deep fried California rolls as pizza dough with Salomon and tuna as toppings.
I first discovered Yohachi at the beginning of the pandemic when we couldn’t eat in restaurants, and my first in-person experience exceeded my expectations! Yohachi is my favorite for sushi, and I’ve been to many. They offer a variety of options. Quality of their veggies, meat, and fish is top notch. I’ve never been disappointed by any of their rolls, and some creations are unique and unforgettable. I’d highly recommend the Bake Salmon Roll, Spicy Salmon Sashimi, Deep Fried California Roll or Deep Fried Spicy Tuna Roll, Yakitori, Teriyaki, Mushroom Maki, my list could go on, but you get the point! Its a cool comfy cozy atmosphere, music isn’t too loud, so you can chat with friends. Plus, the staff are welcoming, kind, and always quick to make sure you have enough tea, water, etc.I try to bring friends who haven’t been as often as I can. I love you Yohachi! :)
We had high hopes for here after reading reviews but our meal fell short. For starters we had the gyoza and the soft crab. While both were tasty, they came out cold.We had the salmon and tuna oshi and both were delicious, as was the dragon roll and yam and mushroom roll.We ordered the spicy tuna and spicy salmon and we did not eat them. Unfortunately the sauce just wasn't for us... It is unlike any other spicy sauce we've had previously with sushi. It was very sweet and almost had a ketchup taste to it.
Our best meal while visiting Vancouver, we were all so Impressed. Best Sushi, so fresh and delicious. The staff was top notch as well. From Ontario and next time we visit we will be back. Already can’t wait! Thank you!, Everyone at the table said it was their best sushi ever.
Fantastic service from Ryan! Gave great recommendations and his favourite dishes. Would highly recommend!
Great food with impressive and spectacular chef and staffs. I can tell that Yohachi is one of incredible sushi place in Vancouver and definitely top tier sushi in North Vancouver ! I never regret to come all the time. Also, they have an unforgettable premium sake that I have never found/had any other sushi restaurants before. Plus, pretty good mood at evening so I definitely come back to have some sushi with sake
Great place to order takeout from! This has become our go-to sushi during the pandemic. Online ordering platform is quick, easy, and 9 times out of 10, the order is ready to go at the time specified. Food is tasty, fish is fresh, our bellies are always happy after our meal!
Food was alright and might be a little above the average when compared to other typical Japanese restaurant but I have one thing that I was quite disappointed about. The restaurant is selling yellowfin tuna and marketing them as bluefin. I asked them before I left and they still say that it is bluefin. You may ask me how I could have known that it is yellowfin for sure. Anybody that are somewhat familiar with the taste of these two fish knows that yellowfin tuna has coarser muscle fibres and bluefin has a relatively finer muscle fibre. Other thing is that they have a relatively bloodier taste. Lastly, the colour could have been a dead give away, yes a bluefin that’s not treated nice might discolour a bit but that’s extremely rare, plus it won’t magically turn into neon pink either. Personally I am totally fine with yellowfin and I do agree that yellowfin could be a bomb sushi neta. But it was a bit over the board when you market one thing as another. That being said these practises are common these days but sad truth I guess.
Very fresh sashimi. Their deluxe chirashi was very good.
Really nice place with excellent staff and very tasty sushi. Ordered the Spicy Tuna combo and the Nigri Sushi was delicious. Will certainly be back.
