Wow. Some of the BEST Indian food I've ever had and that says a lot as I grew up with it living where I do. Initially, my boyfriend and I were going to get a light meal from a Japanese restaurant but we ended up parking nearby other places. So we figured why not check them out! We hadn't had Indian food in a restaurant in a month and decided to go with Vaades. And we did not regret it. It exceeded our expectations for being a spontaneous choice. Although it was humid walking in since there was no ac, we forgot about it after drinking a glass of water. Our server was friendly and accommodating, and happy to fulfill any requests. For instance, extra sauce, more napkins, water refills. We felt taken care of and I loved the small touch of the utensils being wrapped in thick napkins, minus the clear tape. The washroom was also clean and spacious. Now on the topic of what really matters, the food: I ordered the baingan bharta, my boyfriend got the lamb and onion curry, and we shared the crunchy okra because we've never seen anything like it. They piled our food high! You can call it a plating issue but we were ecstatic to receive such a great portion with how delicious it was. The starter was in small crispy pieces and had a lovely sauce to accompany it. My curry was so creamy, had my preferred spice level and my naan was cooked perfectly and fresh. I ended up packing my leftovers for work and it tasted just as good the day after. We will definitely be returning here again when we're in the area. I would give it a 4.5 star rating if I could :)
Great indian restaurant with vegan options. Also, our waitress was friendly and gave us good recommandations.
Highly recommend Vaades!!! Excellent place for authentic Punjabi food, quick service and great location!! We went to Vaades for dinner famished, after a long day of touring around Vancouver and were highly satisfied with the choice of vegetarian options and quick service. Our hostess, Jashana, deserves a special mention as she ensured we got our food just like we wanted it and in the right quantities, while constantly checking on us with that genuine smile on her face. She also served us complimentary lassi as a welcome gesture after we told her that we were tourists! We are definitely going there whenever we visit Vancouver.
Disgusting… first we ordered through SkipTheDishes and the restaurant got our order wrong so we had to order again through Uber eats. This time we got the order we wanted but there was a dead fly inside of the rice. The orders here are always delayed and even though the food is usually good, this is unacceptable. Horrible quality management and order accuracy. Please fix this
Service is really good , food is tasty ,the place is great and quiet , the only little problem is the parking.Highly recommend this place.
Food tasted great. The staff who waited on us was one of the best I have experienced. We went for dinner very late on a Saturday night, 15 mins before closing. To my sweetest surprise, they patiently took our order, made a delicious meal for us and served us patiently and courteously! I did not expect them to have that demeanor at that hour, but I was glad we went to Vaades! Thank you for the lovely experience!
Fresh and authentic Indian food, one of the best in North Vancouver. Their lunch specials are great value and lots of choice. The service is courteous.
I was at my friend's place in north van so i ordered samosas from there .it was my frst time i was ordering from this resturant. it can't be explained how badly it was prepared. i am an indian i can tell so quickly those samosa were made so long before and got double or triple heated.. the layer was so brown and hard with a lottt oil on surface. if you are charging the price showed in menu..and your are providing old prepration by heating it only. not even one whole 4 pieces. you are cheating on your customers. It was emabarssing momment . i was with a white family and going to make them taste indian food. i think they never going to have it again lol. I am sorry but you guys wasted my money seriously.
We ordered Curried Chickpeas & Potato along with Rice and Garlic Naan, the quantity was enough for 2 persons.Being an Indian I loved the taste over here (with proper amount of salt and spicy).Good environment, peaceful sitting area and good food service. The only discomfort we had was, we were feeling cold inside though they said heater was on.At the end we even ordered Tea which was enough quantity as per the price.Public washroom was available. It costed us around $29 CAD including the tax and tips.Curried Chickpeas & Potato $14Rice $4Garlic Naan $4Tea/chai $3Sadly I could not take any picture because we were super hungry :p
Ordered methi chicken via skip..while the masala was okay in taste..the chicken was super dry and chewy. The first time i had ordered lamb biryani and it was the same with lamb but i thought cooking lamb is not everyones cup of tea but screwing up chicken is a disgrace..this was my last time here never again.
