Was great in a real seafood store and they sell very delicious and reasonably priced hot food. The girl who started taking and giving orders was great but the skinny guy with glasses who was supposed to take orders looked confused the whole time and moved very slowly. Strange experience but good food.
This place is definitely overrated. I work nearby and I have tried out this place for lunch a few times. Each time I have been late going back to work. Small fries took around 25 minutes to make and serve, same as 2 fish tacos. The quality isn’t great either. Their cooked food is not great at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a friend.
Very very yummy, I will recomend the crab meat sandwich. it is one of my favorite and as well as the clam chowder soup.
This has been our favorite dish and chip place. Batter wasn't too thick and it was beautifully crispy. No seating but still definitely worth picking up. Haven't bought from the market yet, but it looks great!
Good crab meat sandwich. Fresh fish and chips, big fried oysters.
This place was fantastic (food/staff) when it was on the north side of Dollarton Hwy (many years ago). For the last several years it has been less so - rude staff and fickle response to easy menu adjustments.I have previously obtained a costlier substitution in of halibut (for standard cod) on fish burger, and should have listened to the alarm bells after they charged me 3 totally different amounts for the substitution each time (afterall it's not lobster at a daily market price). Now all of a sudden they can't substitute out cod for halibut at a premium price?Their menu lists cod & chips at price A, halibut & chips at price B, and salmon & chips at Price C. Under this pricing model, cod and chips is your reference pricing, with halibut or salmon offered at a listed premium. Is it really that hard to similarly list a price for substituting in halibut for cod on a friggin sandwhich? And, when a long-time customer inquires, is it really necessary to be rude & dismissive? If it wouldn't be counter to the good work of the local food rescue folks, me thinks it is past time to pull a "Jack" in 5 Easy Pieces. (Or at least order one fish sandwhich & one side piece of halibut - where crows can have at the discarded cod.)Go ahead & spend your money, but do not look for the customer service standard of yore - you will be disappointed!
Our favourite seafood place to go to for take out every time we’re near the area and eat it at the park!
What an incredible Fish and Chips shop! We ordered hot food, so didn't experience the fish market aspect. But the food was exactly what one would hope for! Hot and crispy cod was lightly battered so the flavor of the fish was deliciously there!
After reading rave reviews of this not so hidden gem, we expected to have to wait in line on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Fortunately there was no line and our fish and chip orders arrived piping hot. We enjoyed the freshest cod ever and luckily the limited bench seating area was free. This was our first visit to the Crab Shop but definitely not the last!
Best fish and chips you'll get anywhere. I'm not a fan of fish and chips as the fish is often frozen and soggy. But their fish is always fresh and amazing. If you are a fan of fish and chip , they are a must !!!
