We were really excited to try an all you can eat sushi place here in North Van finally. Instead we were really disappointed with first the "rules" which mandates an 18% gratuity, even for a group of 3. Just ridicules. Gratuity is suppose to be based on service and experience. Not the case here. Its just a money grab. The "rules" also state you have to eat all the rice with the food or pay a $10 penalty. Well they stick it to you there too as I have never seen sushi so stuffed full of rice. We didn't want to place a second order because of this. Not to mention the rice was old and hard. I guess they are not looking for repeat business. I have given 2 stars as the service was decent. Otherwise it would have been a 1.
Sushi Bella is one of the best places for sushi in lower Lonsdale, or LoLo as the locals call it. I’ve always been impressed with the quality and the artistic flair of the creations - this is not a cheap and cheerful sushi place. You’ll find the food to be great, lots of options to choose from. Try the rainbow tower or one of the signatures roles, you won’t be disappointed.
Best sushi in Vancouver! All the ingredients are fresh. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Will visit again!
I went in for all you can eat with my family. On the menu it states that all members have to order all you can eat and I inquired as I have a 3 and 1 year old. I asked if I could just order gyozas for them and all you can eat for my husband and I. We ordered using the all you can eat menu but when the bill came, everything was priced out. When I asked it to be changed, she said there was confusion and it couldn't be changed because we got the regular sized servings. Your problem not mine. The food wasn't as good as when I first went (a long time ago) and their prices don't match the taste! I was not impressed! I would rather go to my much cheaper and tastier places I usually go to as it's worth the drive rather than the walk down to over-priced mediocre sushi!
I always love the food from here! I usually order takeout but my partner and I went and had dine in for Valentine’s Day this year. We had awesome service. The restaurant was very busy and it was also extremely busy with takeout orders. Our food did take a bit longer than a normal weeknight to come out but since it’s a busy dining holiday we weren’t surprised. I was surprised, however, at how rude the take out customers were being to the staff about longer than normal wait times. The staff did a fantastic job and I hope the rude people didn’t get under their skin!
I just had the all-you-can-eat lunch special here. The menu says $24.99, with 18% gratuity included. Beware! The bill was $24.99, plus tax, PLUS 18% on top of all that. That’s a disgusting business practice. It’s misleading and ruined a fun experience. The servers tried to get “lost in translation” but zipped the credit card through in the blink of an eye. They lost my business for good. No thanks, Sushibella.
We have been to Sushi Bella several times over the years and are seldom disappointed. Our latest visit was delightful. Service was excellent ( thank you Misol) and it was so good to see Bella back again. We missed you ?. We have always loved the food and one of our favourites was the Puri Puri Ebi. Sadly this seems to have changed a bit and the sauce was overly spicy. We’d love it if they could return to the original recipes. The Dancing Queen roll and the Fish Tacos were delicious. Love this restaurant, the food, and the staff who are always so welcoming. We’ll be back soon!
The worst customer service that I have ever seen, rude staff, poor quality food. They even didn’t respond to us several times and the table was so dirty. I saw that the lady who was working there talked in a loud voice to others in a rude way, it was unbelievable. I never come back there and I never recommend here to anyone at all, and you can find better places to go in North Vancouver , don’s waist your money and time.
I am very disappointed about my experience at Sushi Bella. In a freezing restaurant, the server failed to bring us hot tea and said, quote, “I forgot you guys were there”. The appetizer came much after the main meal and only after we inquired about this twice. Ramen was served in an unreasonably small bowl with large rim, which made it very difficult to mix the soup, noodles, and ingredients together. Most importantly, I did not feel safe dining here. Despite the provincial restrictions, the server fit 3 tables very tightly to each other in one section of the restaurant, when the back part of the restaurant was (very clearly) completely empty. There were no physical distancing measures put into place or the use of plexiglass or dividers as the provincial restrictions require. When I inquired about the restrictions and the unreasonable and very uncomfortably tight sitting space with another party, especially when the back part of the restaurant was completely empty with multiple tables, the server ignored to answer my question and walked away. Overall, I felt incredibly unsafe, uncomfortable, unheard, and ignored at Sushi Bella.
Finally, my review.Every time I have been here, the staff are clueless.Clearly no hospitality training whatsoever. Most recently, one of the servers tried to tell me that the vaccine passports are law. They are mandates, not law.Oh yeah, the food is not very good.Better off at one of the other sushi places within 2 minutes walk.
