Authentic, hole in the wall restaurant. We were the only non Korean diners so you know this place is the real deal. Thank goodness there were pictures on the menu. We ordered medium spicy which the server said would be Korean medium spicy. Oh boy! Our tofu bowls arrived piping hot and spicy enough to make your eyes water and nose run … in a good way Welcoming service, nicely prepared and presented food.
Ugh honestly the soondae soup was so authentic like the ones I had in korea. The makgeoli rice taste is very strong and smooth . The ahjumma server was very kind and the service is wonder, even when she is the only one serving
Very authentic and tasty traditional Korean dishes. The blood sausage was excellent and the seafood tofu soup was very tasty as well. Bibimbap was good and we finished all the food. Friendly service. Older location, but the food is worth it.
We were in the area looking for a new restaurant to try and came across South Castle with which had such high reviews - we were not disappointed.Their menu is well known for their blood sausages and intestines. I don't ever eat organs/innards but their stir-fried pork intestine (#16 막창꼬투리볶음) with 'Very Hot' sauce was SO good! 10/10 would recommend - it's a must try. I couldn't stop eating it. We also ordered the Cold Buckwheat noodles, Seafood Tofu Soup and Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap but nothing beats the intestines.
Great place for AUTHENTIC Korean food! There is also a lot of it! I'm Korean and this place is just beyond delicious! If I lived in Vancouver, sadly I live in Winnipeg, not that Winnipeg is bad but if I lived in Vancouver I would basically come here very frequently!!! The service is great and there are Korean speaking employees! I would absolutely recommend!
A couple weekends ago, we arrived to this restaurant by 6 PM. There was no line-up so we felt lucky since we did not have to wait to be seated although it was strange that there were not as many people as usual. However, as soon as we received Soondae, we found out why there's not many customers. There was pork blood missing which is the most important ingredient for Korean sausages. It is like having a pizza without cheese!!!Although there was the key ingredient missing, the restaurant did not notify the customers on the door or before they even took orders.The Vietnamese restaurant that we go to regularly, they notify the customers when they don't have Thai basil for the soup.We have been going to this restaurant ever since they opened 10+ years. How disappointing this is. We'll never return to this restaurant since the owner doesn't have a curtesy to his long-term loyal customers.As I do not want to eat pizza without cheese, it is the same with Korean soondae. I do not want to support this kind of business owners who does not respect the customers. I felt really betrayed. He can at least notify the situation on the door. In this way, you earn your credit instead of losing customers.No wonder the restaurant was empty!

Authentic! As a Korean who travels for good food, we were impressed with the quality and taste of the soondae (Korean sausages) and cold buckwheat noodle. When we saw only a few items on this menu we had high hopes and were not disappointed. Ingredients were authentic without being overly salty or sweet. Right level of fermentation. Pricing is very reasonable and we are leaving wishing we had the same in Toronto. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
