so me and my hubby came from maple ridge as we enjoy their food. we got there only people in the restraunts and were given menus and roomtemperature water . the food was awesome and we noticed prices have increased like usual. we got our bill 150$ and when i went to pay on the machine it gave me tipoption 10% 15% 20% . i pressed 10 % . when the receptor cameout the waitress goes you only tipped 10% and i said yes and she goes wellyour suppose to tip 15% and i said i’m suppose to tip what i would like to tip. she then goes you give me 7 $ more dollars cash . umm excuse me ! really unfortunate as we use to like this place and didn’t mind the trek out there but after that we willnot return .
Been a customer for more than 10 years. The prices keep going up while the portions ate becoming smaller. We ordered Orange Peel Chicken. There were maybe 15 small pieces of chicken, maybe totalling upto one breast meat size. The rest are all onions or bell peppers. Same for other dishes. All veggies and barely any meat.
Red ChiliRarely if ever leave a negative review but can’t help it here. No issues with the food per se but I do agree that it is overpriced compared to market, while not being anything extraordinary. Last order for 6 dishes is now $155 - I do get that everyone is raising prices but this is definitely higher than the norm.Main issue is with service and feeling valued as a customer- lack of respect, rudeness and impatience from lady taking orders and gratuity expectation on pick up. After being five minutes late for pick up stuck in traffic, I got a call from them demanding “Where are you? Your order is ready!”What always gets me is they ask if you’re paying cash or by card - if you pay by cash you get a discount but penalized if you don’t. Someone call CRA on this establishment! And send your business to one of the other many lovely other options in North Vancouver., who will value and appreciate your business, maybe with a smile rather than a scowl.
Food and service is very good, as always! Been going there every chance I have for years when I am around that area. Their prices are a bit too high though.
We found Red Chilli to be quite good and from our experience, felt as though some of the negative reviews on here to be a bit over the top. Everything we ordered tasted great, the servicer was friendly, and it’s in a great location right next to Victoria Park. We did find it slightly on the pricier end but that’s minor issue.
Food was good but they don't care about their customers that eat in. The new menu offers less but the prices have sky rocketed and to make matters worse they charge us for the take home containers. Really? We eat out 2 or 3 times a week and have never been charged for containers. They just don't care to keep dine in customers!
I ordered a large dinner for my family. Food was ok. Later that night I was eating some leftovers when I swallowed what I thought was a chilli stem, and as I swallowed I realized it was too sharp, so I coughed it up. I was a staple. I'm just glad it was me and not one of my children. After informing the restaurant, the owner apologized and said they'd do any investigation to how it ended up there and they would reimburse me for the whole meal. The next day I was I contacted by someone who worked there and told me that they must have put too many staples on the bag and that when I open it the staple must have ended up in my food. Then they offered me store credit for the one item. I told them that there is no way that that could have happened because the food containers are sealed when they come out of the bag. It was a ridiculous excuse, and I told them not to bother with the store credit because I've lost confidence in their business, and I don't feel they are taking proper precautions when preparing people's food.
Went to have dinner at Red Chili at 7:40pm. Their hours listed in the window said 4:30pm to 9:00pm everyday closed Monday. Walked in at they wanted to order takeout and informed us that they closed at 8:30pm. And they really pushed takeout. We left and will not return.
Good food and the host lady is very sweet
The food was terrible the place was empty. Taste nothing like Szechuan food. Very expensive for what you are getting. Made me gave 15% tips
