Quiet, quaint atmosphere, feels authentic. Service is excellent. The Greek food is much better than average, thankfully devoid of the heaviness often found in most Greek restaurants (you can't not have the roast lamb), and the chef has a few non-Greek specialties as well, including an outstanding mushroom dish that shouldn't be missed and a French seafood medley that should not be missed.
Unfortunately we didn’t have the experience others have spoken of. We were surprised to find that the chicken souvlaki (three of us all had it and it was all the same) was very rubbery, and we actually found a piece of rubber or plastic in our tarama (yes, really). The salads were clearly old and wilted with soggy tomatoes. I emailed the restaurant to let them know about our experience and we never heard anything back. It’s now been several weeks. We love supporting North Van businesses but sadly this experience was not a good one.
I am updating my review, the review is solely on the service of one rude male server. I went to the restaurant yesterday at 4:30 pm. There was only on more couple besides our group. After we ordered the food and drinks, the server came back with the Pepsi and I asked him to bring us another pop drink as well. His exact words with an aggressive tone “are you going to order all of it together or should I make a third round or fourth round for you” honestly I was shocked by what he was saying. Since I was accompanied with my wife and mother, I decided not to engage with him and to speak to another staff member who settled the bill. We hardly started with our appetizer and decided to leave.David E. I reached out to you yesterday to speak regarding this and no one has called me back. It’s a shame this person is reflecting badly on the restaurant since the food is top notch. There is no excuse or place for these kind of servers.
Always delicious, the chicken fingers are my favourite and there potatoes are always amazing and seasoned so well weather they are whole or fries. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a delicious meal.
Ordered for the first time from Kypriaki tonight and was so impressed! Delicious Greek food and very reasonable prices. Will definitely be ordering again :)
Used to like this place but things have definitely gotten worse over time.. Service is poor.. You have to ask for cutlery after they bring your food. Servers aren't knowledgeable or polite either. Roast lamb is signature of any Greek restaurant and they don't have it even at 6:30 pm on a weekend. This should tell you how this place is operating. Unfortunately I will not go back.Update: From the way the owner has chosen to respond it's rather clear that his ability to cater to customer service in a way that is respectful and reasonable is missing. This is the first time I’ve ever seen such an unprofessional response from an owner. Not only he lost me as a frequent customer, now my friends and family will not be choosing Kypriaki either after reading the rude response. Best of luck!
It's a really good restaurant for a date night. The food was outstanding and very filling.The quantity was awesome for the price. Highly recommend the Portobello mushroom and lamb roast!
dang, this was insanely good. idk if its my empty stomach that enhanced the flavor but the food was extremely enjoyable. juicy meat, steaming hot rice and fresh salad. a very nice combination. also nice open kitchen so you can take a sneak peak at them while they're cooking your food. certainly a hidden gem here. 5/5 stars and more! Kypriaki has been our family favourite for Greek food for many years, both take out and in the restaurant. We recently celebrated a special birthday at the restaurant and had a wonderful meal and the service was fantastic.My husband and daughter love the chicken souvlaki and I am a huge fan of the roast lamb. And we always enjoy the calamari appetizer.Thank you Joe for the wonderful, attentive and friendly service - you helped to make the evening very special!
We ordered the Kypriaki platter for our date night and it was the best take out food we've had since covid! Everything was packaged nicely, all the items in the platter tasted fantastic, the staff were extremely friendly. Loved this place. Will definitely be coming back.
