I have been patronizing this establishment for the last 30 years while living in North Vancouver. Having eaten at many restaurants that serve the Chinese cuisine, I continue to return time and time again to the Golden Pearl. Although I have since moved on from the Lower Mainland, upon each return to the North Shore I must have at least one meal at my beloved Gordon Pearl and get my Chinese food fix. I find the staff delightful and friendly and have watched them come and go over the years. The menu is brimming with delicious western-style meals. They go that extra mile to make sure that every thing that is served is prepared without utmost quality. This restaurant is a must for all those who expect quality at a very reasonable price.
Best Cantonese style Chinese food left in the lower mainland. They have dishes like their garlic chicken and satay beef on a teppan plate beyond the usual that are popular with their customers. Never disappoints when my family & I visit. The staff know all their customers and goes the extra mile to make you happy. Since they have been open for dine after the pandemic prices have gone up which is not surprising since prices everywhere everything has gone up with inflation. Busy take out business has obviously sustained the restaurant.
While our food was hot when we got it, everything was incredibly bland and greasy. My spring roll was just cabbage and my fingers were dripping in grease after trying it.The shrimp fried rice and chicken chow mein had no seasoning whatsoever.Our food took over an hour, and we had to call back to ask if it had left the store. It “was just coming out”. When we went to pick it up it was basically empty and there weren’t any other orders waiting for pickup/delivery, so I’m not sure what took so long.I will definitely not be returning.
The food was really good but I noticed the server making wonton at a tabke and serving people without washing her hands
This is a great neighbourhood Chinese go-to restaurant. Consistently good take out. Very efficient counter service.Every meal is just right.Thank you Golden Pearl.
I will never order from here again. This has been the worst experience ordering from a restaurant ever. After picking up our order we realized they had missed one of our dishes, but charged us for it. So we phoned them to get the dish or a refund for the dish. They preceeded to argue with us and after speaking to four different people, all of them terrible to deal with we finally got the "ok" to come pick up our missing dish. I do not recommend even considering this place to eat at and based off of what I saw when I was in there im sure its due for an inspection.

ordered for delivery. They repeated back our order and still made mistake. gave us wrong food items. When phoned to get fixed they weren't going to do much and charge us for missing item. when they wrote item wrong after repeating. was gonna switch out mistake ribs only they got the other ones back. Giving ribs back is covid safe right? careful might be given my returned honey garlic ribs.

Very disappointed in the Golden Pearl tonight. We waited almost two hours for our delivery and got no apology or explanation other than they were busy. I would have appreciated a heads up so I could make other arrangements. I won’t be ordering from here again.
