I recently moved in the neighborhood, and thought I'll give this restaurant a try.The food was dry like plastic (I think it was left over from few day back). There are so many good Chinese food places in Vancouver, I don't know how this restaurant is surviving!!?Will never go back or order, I do not recommend this place to no one.
Very friendly staff! I will really miss here!
CC's aka The Capilano Heights Restaurant aka the Lion Forest (狮子林) has been a North Shore staple since 1972. A family business that loves serving families, we have been coming here for three generations since my grandfather did the original gas inspection. One of the most unique dining rooms in the city, you are truly IN the forest. Located just across the street from the Cleveland Dam with a view up the reservoir to the Lions Mountains.I would recommend this place to everyone visiting the city just for the locationMenu is classic Chinese food done well. The Sweet and Sour Pork is crispy and the Ginger Beef is fragrant and spicy. Dining in is the best, the food comes out super fresh! love this place
The staff are the real storytellers, super helpful and friendly. They shared with us the story of this restaurant. Surprisingly, this restaurant has been serving the neighbourhood for FIVE DECADES already!!! And now is the 3rd generation who is running it. The chefs have been working here for more than 30 years and we believe the food quality has been maintained very well. The solarium area is beautiful with a yard outside and you seem to have food next to the nature. We enjoyed having our late lunch under the sun. Do check it out if you like Chinese food and embrace the nature. The best restaurant in North Van!
Gluten free Chinese takeout is a rare treat for celiacs! Fried rice is great, several other dishes were good as well, but a couple were also a wee bit bland. Almost everything on the menu can be done GF.
Loved this restaurant when I was a kid. Lots of indoor seating and natural light. Has its own parking lot in the front. The food is still decent with lots of options. Would highly recommend the this and that chow mein. The ginger beer was not the best. Furniture could use some updating. Will still eat here again.
This is such a weird restaurant. It looks and smells like an old church, which is certainly a unique experience. My only problem was: they have no combo plates on the menu for dine-in. It seems like they want large groups of people to come in and share large orders of individual items. But for solo people or couples, this doesn't feel suitable. However, when we asked why there are no combos, the staff said they could create a combo from a few menu items. So I ordered chow mien, lemon chicken and sweet and sour chicken. It was delicious! Put the combo options on the menu so people can enjoy the tasty food how they like it!
Chicken chow mein, wonton soup, fried rice and chop suey are really good. Sweet and sour boneless pork is too chewy. Lemon chicken is ok but not as good as the old restaurant used to make it where they put the sauce on themselves instead of in a cup. Overall, one of the best Chinese restaurants on the North Shore.
This is the best Chinese restaurant. I love the house special fried rice, sweet sour pork. They have very good customer service. Very nice workers. Always smiling.
This place I have been coming to since I can remember and it never fails to disappoint cannot go wrong with lemon chicken fried rice and sweet and sour pork this is my go-to if it was my last meal to ever eat
