I’ve lived in the area for a few years now but hadn’t tried Busan Daejj Gukbap until very recently. I’ve been missing out! I went a couple times in the last few months and tried a few different dishes and they’ve all been so good. The side dishes were all my favourites as well. Hoping to try their fried chicken next time! I also found the staff incredibly warm and friendly.I highly recommend this place for people both familiar and unfamiliar with Korean food.
Wow, such a great spot. Medium spicy coconut curry chicken was excellent as was the exotic lamb. The appy platter was a good start too. Nan bread was fresh and not greasy. Service was good. Only "complaint" would be how chilly it is in there due to the door opening and closing constantly with delivery service pick-ups. Wear a coat to dine in.
This place was traumatizing. Don't go here if you want Korean BBQ. The service was so bad that it gave me an anxiety attack. My partner was able to eat; I was too upset to enjoy it. I should have read the reviews before going inside.
Very good Korean food on the North Shore! I really enjoy their specialty which is dwaeji gukbap. This stew is made with a delicious bone broth that is not spicy. I especially like the accompaniments which includes noodles, chives, salted shrimp, pepper paste and of course, kimchi. If you’re looking for something spicier, the gamjatang is delicious!
Spacey and relatively empty at 2/3pm. We had soondae and gukbap. All my friends (not Korean) and I (Korean) loved the food here, and the lady was very kind. 10/10 would visit again
I think everyone came this place different menu item. Definitely not for daeji gukbap. Side dishes are okay. But gukbap(pork bone soup) is not that rich. Put a bit too much water. And meat has too much strong smell. Even though you may still go there for gop chang jungole (곱창 전골). Eveyone had that one while we visited for gukbap.
Their fried chicken is the best I’ve ever had!! Have yet to try more of their menu. We have only ever ordered takeout; however, when we go in to pickup the food the service is always kind and friendly and the restaurant itself is spacious and very clean ? I don’t have any photos of the food because I always eat it before I remember to take a picture.
I ordered pork bone soup and later told me it’s sold out, so I agreed to change to beef soup, so regret as there’s only 4-5 pieces of beef inside. I also ordered intestine copchang, the cow’s intestine is too difficult to chew, very hard! A totally wrong choice here.
Omg so goood! It's like we're back in the heart of Seoul pigging out on fantastic Korean food.
Ordered pork soup (non-spicy), the broth was bomb and the meat portion was generous, but they were too fatty.
