Brown's in Lynn Valley offers one of the better choices for casual dining east of Lonsdale, a segment of North Vancouver not noted for great dining choices. Our visit was reserved before 5 pm on a Friday. We were seated immediately although the restaurant was busy. Service was friendly and attentive and the menu offers choices that should satisfy all, regardless of thirst or hunger. My only complaint would be about sound. Years ago, an American newspaper began reporting on restaurant noise: "pleasantly quiet, at less than 65 dBA, up to the too-noisy-for-normal-conversation "bomb" at 80-plus dBA. Now, diners are hard-pressed to find restaurants that are under 75." My sound measuring device had Brown's well over75 dBA.

Some of the staff are unpleasant and the manager refused to help. He was also rude and unprofessional and I am glad to see other comments from other customers on here relating the same problem.I often went there but the quality of food were not consistent and overall very oily.I complained about one dish which tasted funny and I still had to paid. They pretended there were no oil in the dish when clearly it was oily and it was tasting bad and funny!!!Cook better and healthier food and get a proper training to become more professional

2021 NovemberSpecial date night. Chose Brown's Social House Lynn Valley thinking it was a good spot to sit and eat a delicious meal and catch up.We ordered the Spicy Tuna roll & Crispy Cauliflower to start. The cauliflower was tasty. It was the star of our meal. The tuna roll wasn't great. I would not order that again. For dinner we each settled on a bowl. The Tuna Poke Bowl and the #28 Dragon Bowl with chicken. For desert we shared the Key Lime Pie & Oreo Cheesecake jar.The Tuna Poke Bowl is usually my go-to. I've had it before at various Browns locations and it hadn't disappointed... Until tonight. I'm not sure what it was, but it was a little off. It wasn't as tasty or generously portioned as I've experienced in the past. This was unfortunate. Sadly, I did get I'll later that night. I reached out to the restaurant ocer email and they did express concern and wanted to look into the situation. The Cheesecake was good. Key lime wasn't spectacular. With tip and NO drinks, our meal came to just shy of $100. Not a great value.Unfortunate. Not sure I'll return.***UPDATE***2022 MarchDespite my previous review I did return with a different date. We went for lunch and shared the Tuna Poke Bowl (I clearly blocked out my last experience) and the Crispy Chicken Tacos. The kitchen kindly plated both dishes in half for us to share. It was nicely presented. We enjoyed both dishes. This may have overturned the previous visit. The restaurant very cleanService friendlyFood good.

Brown’s socialhouse Lynn Valley is a good place for casual food fare located in the Heart off Lynn Valley beside the Lynn Valley public Library & a moments walk too Lynn Valley Weslynn Mall. The menu has a large selection of appetizers & entrees there’s an open Bar in the relaxed rustic atmosphere Restaurant. The food is good moderately priced I usually order the Carbonara, this time I took it too go. It’s nice.

My experience at brown's was as good as you should expect. The food was good, the drinks were fine, and the atmosphere was ok. Nothing overall special about it. It loses a star for me because I don't believe it is the best value for your dollar. It is a very pricey establishment for what you get (average price of 19$ for a burger and fries). I'd like to reiterate, the quality of the food is not bad at all, but you could get the same quality for cheaper elsewhere. If you are on a budget you could do better going somewhere else. The location is prime, has ample parking and is within walking distance from the mall.

Browns Social House in Lynn Valley is our favorite neighbourhood restaurant. Food is delicious and the menue caters to all our different eating styles. The nice patio is a big plus and helped us feel kinda 'normal' on the last couple years while living through that pandemic. Stuff is always friendly and courteous

I've yet to be disappointed here. Delicious food when you're dining in.Now for take out, it's a bit out of their control but usually by the time things are delivered they can be a bit soggy. Now remember that's not their fault. Just some advice to order other things that aren't prone to being soggy. So instead of fries get a salad or something. I've had the beef dip delivered twice and it's been amazing both times, but soggy fries.

Potato crusted cod bowl arrived in a cold dish.. for starters..very small piece of cod..lukewarm almond rice.. heaps of salad…yes my meal was compted....Not the first time this has happened to my favourite meal. Reason for this.”. because the meal comes with a salad..the bowl can’t be heated!” Why isn’t the salad put in a separate bowl? Just really disappointed.. Browns that’s the best offered? Looong time until we return!Wait staff.. great(as usual!!)

Went to Browns, the hostesses and our server Sophie were excellent! The food on the other hand was not. The cauliflower order was happy hour for $7 not sure if it is just a half order but then that isn’t a deal of any kind. The pile of guacamole was so tiny it was disappointing. We also ordered lettuce wraps and fries both were very small. I have not noticed my portions being so tiny in the past. The lettuce wraps were all sauce as well. Thankfully Sophie made up for it with her spectacular service.

Service was friendly and quick. There were many options for people with dietary restrictions and the servers were very thorough on checking with the kitchen to make sure things were safe. The food was also delicious and the portion sizes were not too large not too small.
