Good sushi. Menu has all the standard items you need from a sushi place. Not gourmet or anything but pretty good for what it is. The assorted sashimi was fresh and had a good variety of fish but there was sand on the surf clam. The BC roll was tasty. The fried California roll was average and a big soggy so not crispy on the outside. The scallop and salmon pressed sushi was good but could have had more scallop and salmon to it. The rice to fish ratio was a bit too much rice compared to fish for my liking.
Forgot to include items we had ordered and paid for, no chopsticks, soy sauce, or cutlery includes whatsoever. Missing sauce for other items ordered.Tried to call and have the issue resolved.. the lady on the phone had terrible communication skills, talked over me constantly and even hung up while I was mid sentence. Rude and inconsiderate of customer satisfactionCalled a second time after they told us they would have the rest delivered and the manager got on the phone after we asked for a refund. He tried to blame the driver for the missing items..Won't be ordering from here again.
This qualifies as a hidden gem in an unlikely spot. Victoria sushi is nestled in a small retail space on the ground floor of an apartment building that is within a quiet residential development. There’s no commercial foot traffic so it is definitely a “destination spot.” I’ve been here several times and the food is great. The sushi is fresh and expertly done and rivals many of the top sushi spots in town. However, the best thing is that the prices are a whole lot lower than those fancy places. Check this place out for sure. They have a good menu selection and even tofu soup which is very tasty. My recommendations are the tofu soup and Oshi and Aburi. Worth a return visit. Drop me a comment or a like, if you found this helpful.
My friend recommended me about this place. I couldn't justify going to New West to get oshi sushi.. But sure enough I was wrong. Their oshi sushi was melt in your mouth good. We came here at night for dinner. Difficult spot to find parking so park on the main road and walk through the back. I'd definitely come back!
Horribly managed establishment with very very mediocre food. When we let them know that our items did not taste fresh or seasoned, they simply said we were complaining for no reason and did not offer to remake or replace the items. Disgusting business practices. We were forced to pay even though we did not eat the items. We offered to pay for half as we did sample two pieces of each of our rolls (my partner and I both had one). However, they were completely unwilling to compromise even though we were very clearly unhappy with our food and left without eating a proper lunch. Please do yourself a favour and do not go here. This establishment really shouldn't be open when there are so many better spots in Vancouver and area. What a waste of $50 and a terrible experience while on vacation.
Super delicious sushi here! We ordered grilled salmon and tuna sushi and chicken teriyaki. Food was really great and service was good too. Overall the restaurant is clean and tidy. Will visit here again!
So good! Highly recommend any of their saba dishes, and their aburi Tobiko roll is a must have. Saba was fresh and tasted very good with their miso dressing. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful, overall great service and yummy food. It's a smaller restaurant in the base of an apartment building so it might be harder to find, parking is limited
We just visited this local sushi restaurant and the food is absolutely amazing! Both dishes were so flavourful and they have some of the best tasting rice I’ve tried!I love the atmosphere as well with the relaxing music and decor. The employees are very friendly and kind <3 thank you! We’ll be back for more. ???
This place has been on my list for a while because of the reviews saying how it rivals Miku for aburi, but I hadn't made it here since I never go to New West. I came here on a Saturday evening because I was in the area after a long hike, so I was pretty hungry and the saba and tuna oshi were fairly good, but seeing as I don't live nearby, it was not worth it for me. The place is quite small and not fancy, and it wasn't very busy at peak dinnertime either. They didn't have everything that was on the menu which was disappointing but understandable. Overall it was okay but just not worth the drive for me.
Great food reasonable prices and they are being as safe as possible during considering the covid situation
