Since the first one opened back in 1970, it has not been "Real Italian Food", but rather North American Spaghetti, etc. . . . BUT, Now they are using cheaper versions of the "Old Flavours". . . the Mazithra cheese is not as rich as it used to be. . . the "House Dressing" is severely watered down . . . It is just not the Full-bodied Flavour that it used to be. . . .
The place serves nice food and has pretty friendly staff. We ordered two pasta dishes, Pesto Linguine and Seafood Linguine Marinara. Both were cooked perfectly well, flavors were well balanced. Wait times for food were a bit long - we had our lunch between 3 and 4 pm, it was a happy hour, but the restaurant had most seats available. It took about 40 minutes to get the main dishes, about 30 minutes to get appetizers - Caesar and Green salad. However, service was nice, our waitress was super sweet and quick. We got a fresh hot sourdough bread with fragrant garlic butter as a free appetizer and hot water with lemon which made the wait bearable. Also, at the end we received a free spumoni ice cream, which is very pleasant. The portions were big, my husband and myself got really full. The place is stylized with a lot of stained glass, Tiffany lamps, historical artefacts of Columbia and New West stations. I like the dim yellow light that creates calm and intimate atmosphere. One great improvement would be if the door entry and the floor in front of it could be cleaned a bit. It's a high traffic area since the restaurant is located by the Skytrain station and literally hundreds of people walk there daily. However, all customers go through that door and touch it. It would be really nice if it could be cleaned a bit.
BEST SPAGHETTI EVERRRR!!!! SPAGHETTIGASM ??? busted as the juicy flavours hit my tongue. my taste buds weren’t prepared for this AMAZING level of flavour. I don’t think i can go back because i can’t contain myself. i just wanna slurp up all the noodles??

Have been coming to the Old Spaghetti Factory since I was a kid and have wonderful memories. Everything is still as it was, the decor, menu items, paper menu, spumoni ice cream. Have always loved the food at OSF. It was particularly delicious at the New Westminster location. Felt like gourmet food! The chefs did a wonderful job. Felt like it could have come from a fancy, upscale, expensive restaurant. Service was also very good. Prompt and friendly.
Very reasonably priced “complete” meals that include a starter (salad or soup), bread, choice of main, and ending with ice cream (vanilla or spumoni). Incredible service. Great for families with young kids. Ask to sit in the tram!
On March 3, 2022, my friend and I went for lunch. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We asked to share the spaghetti with meat sauce. The salad and the spaghetti were split on two separate plates for us. Both were delicious and just the right amount of food. We were also served our wine very quickly and efficiently. We started to chat with our waiter and it turns out it was Clinton, the general manager. He was superb. He told us his employment history at The Old Spaghetti Factory and said it was a great place to work. He was delightful and made our lunch a truly memorable experience. It's been almost 25 years since my last visit. The food at this location was good as before when I returned this Monday. The lunch special was delicious and only $13.00 something. Amazing ?
Lunch special at spaghetti factory. Love it and all included meal. I use my bonus card.Definitely, I will go back again. Server is nice and I like the decoration. Something special and different from other Restaurants. The only setback is they don't have free parking available. If you take public transit, it won't have any issues.
As far as service goes, you wont find much better than this in New West. The FOH team is clearly holding themselves to high standards in terms of professionalism, altruism, communication, cleanliness, and excellence. I hadn’t been for years, but I can tell it is the kind of place you can go for anything- casual, business, date night, family outing- super kid friendly. The young manager Jamie and many of the female servers pleasantly surprised my partner and I with the lovely welcoming environment we received and the way we were treated. Our expectations were far past exceeded; we will be back.
