My friend took me there for dinner and I found the bread was very hard and not fresh at all. I ordered the roast lamb and calamari and the portion were quite small. Atmosphere was nice though. Will I go back again? Probably not!
Good food, good view and good services! I dropped my cooler accidentally but the beautiful server, Leni, came right away and cleaned it ripidly as well as bought me new cooler without additional charges. It is a hidden gem anyone should try!Parking: Street meter parking only
Phenomenal service and stellar food! I just had the roast lamb plate for dinner, and it was the juiciest, tastiest lamb I’ve had in years. The rice was cooked to perfection, and the whole dish was perfect. I also had the ekmek for dessert, which was delicious, but too large for one person! I guess I need to come back and share many plates with friends, so I can try the rest of the menu!
Taverna Greka is a restaurant situated on a bank of the mighty Frazer river with views of an industrial part of this beautiful river. It was very kind of the hostess to offer us a table by the window vs. the main room . It was worth a short wait . The food is basic Greek fare. Service is personable and friendly. Full bar with a sufficient list of beer and wine. Everything is clean and perhaps a little worn . It's in a part of town that has seen better days and maybe is on the way to a better future.
Consistently great food and service! The vegetarian moussaka was delicious! I wish they were open for at lunchtime, too!
Yummy! And attentive wait staff. Kudos to all!! Apparently 100 characters are needed for a full review. I hope this review has achieved that!!!
This authentic Greek restaurant has been an icon in New Westminster for ages. Located right on Columbia street, it’s easy to find. Look for their name in bright blue lights. If you’re celebrating a special occasion or have out of town visitors, reserve a table by the window. Here you will get a beautiful view of the Fraser River. They were busy on the weekend which took a little longer for our food to arrive. It was worth the wait. They had a ‘features’ menu and I highly recommend ordering the Tarama Dip which is red caviar served with pita bread. Unusual and tasty. We ordered the moussaka, vegetarian moussaka, roasted lamb, & lamb chops. All entrees came with rice, roast potatoes, Greek salad, pita & tzatziki. Everyone loved their selections. Flavourful, fresh, and a decent portion.Great value! Our server was friendly Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Get there early! If you enjoy Greek food, this is the place!
Amazing experience, we knew once we had to be sat at the bar that we chose a great place to eat because this place was PACKED. My partner and I both got lamb and loved it, easily the best I've ever had. Plates were large but the food was so well cooked that we ate all of it without any issues, and not even a hint of indigestion or heartburn- good food sits great. Bartender was so friendly and great to speak to in-between her making drinks for a packed restaurant. It was a fantastic experience. I do recommend a reservation on a Saturday night however, we were remarkably lucky to receive even bar seating at the time we walked in. Well worth the reservation however. 10/10.

such good food. pita and tzadziki were amazing , as was the calamari- lightly battered and really yummy. I had the prawns, which were grilled to perfection. hubby had the spannikopita, which was probably the best I have ever tasted. the salad ingrediants were fresh and flavourful. service and kitchen were really prompt, and the waitress was pleasant and provided really good service. it was a lovely, thoroughly enjoyable meal.
