Nice ambiance and very clean location. Staff are very friendly and attentive! Tried both the chocolate and mango bingsoo and they were very delicious and the serving size was generous.

Ok so it's not the best bingsoo in town, it's ok, Passion 8 is much better; but they have grilled cheese, taiyaki, as well as my fav cheesy mochi, which is admittedly not the healthiest snack but better than many. It's gluten free and highly addictive. These things are not commonly available so I guess it depends what you're after.

I’ve always loved their bingsoo but today since it was quite chilly we decided to get hot chocolates with sweet potato taiyaki and injeolmi toast and it was soooo good.

Had some desserts here last week. We had their oreo bingsoo, injulmi toast and taiyaki. Can't go wrong with the desserts here. Nutella taiyaki is definitely a fav.

Their strawberry cheesecake is a must try. Service was super quick even though it was a little busy and she was all by herself.

Lots of mangos their ice shaved is soft lots of mango purée i wish the top was ice cream instead of whipped cream

Pretty great dessert place! I had never had bingsoo before and really wasn't sure of what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised by how soft the shaved ice was (compared to the usual shaved ice cones you can buy from vendors at fairs and such) and was impressed by how generous the portion size was. Unfortunately they did not take American Express. Overall though a place I intend to go back to in the future!

Snowy Village Dessert Café, based out of Korea, opened their first Canadian location in Richmond in 2016. Marketing their “healthy and fresh desserts” as a take on “tradition meets modern,” they’ve grown exponentially over the last 5 years; in fact, they now have 10 locations across BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Given the rapid growth, I think it’s safe to say bingsoo is a hit. It took me some time, but I finally had the opportunity to try Snowy Village at their New Westminster location, which opened in the Fall of 2018. In retrospect, it’s probably a good thing I didn’t attempt to patronize Snowy Village when it first hit my radar in early 2017. Reading reviews from the food blogging community (mostly of the Richmond location), it would seem waits in excess of 2 hours were not uncommon for the first months of operation. I like my dessert treats – and have even waited over an hour for an Uncle Tetsu cheesecake – but I’m not sure I’d willingly wait 2+ hours. What was all the fuss about? Snowy Village’s signature bingsoo dessert! Bingsoo is a Korean dessert traditionally made of shaved ice and red beans; however, the folks at Snowy Village have modernized the dessert (hence, the “tradition meets modern” tag) and included a plethora of toppings such as fresh fruit, green tea, cheesecake, Oreo cookies and chocolate. Additionally, instead of plain shaved ice, they use 100% Canadian milk, which helps to give the dessert a look and texture akin to fluffy snow! Check out their official website and you’ll see just how tantalizing these desserts look! In any event, seeing as I was in New Westminster, I decided to finally check Snowy Village off my list. Even though we’re still in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, the traffic at this location was still pretty decent. A small queue had formed before the shop had opened (at 2PM, not the 1PM posted online) but, thankfully, it was nothing like what the food bloggers described a few years earlier. Entering the establishment, I was impressed with its high ceilings and minimalist look. The restaurant gave off a very casual yet somewhat refined vibe – I can easily see a group of friends enjoying their time here. I ordered the strawberry bingsoo and, without getting too wordy, will say it was an absolute delight. The dessert came with a mountain of fresh strawberries, whipped cream, condensed milk and silky snowflake shaved ice. It was a treat for the eyes and, more importantly, the taste-buds. The strawberries were sweet and vibrant while the shaved icy “snow” was smooth and, yes, actually had a texture similar to that of real snow! What’s more, the portion – even at Regular size – could easily feed two people. FOOD: 5/5 SERVICE: 5/5 VALUE: 5/5 RECOMMENDATION: Snowy Village Dessert Café is a fun place. The desserts are creative, refreshing and satisfying. While I don’t see this becoming a regular indulgence for me, it’s definitely something I’d gladly enjoy with friends on occasion. Recommended! First time trying out the Korean shaved ice dessert and I love it so much that I decided to come back again the following week. What I love the most was the texture, it was very soft melt in your mouth kinda thing. I also like their taiyaki pastry! Service was okay (not amazing), just come here for the food!

Super conveniently located right outside the skytrain gates. The yogurt bingsoo met our standards. One issue is all the tables are too short for the avg person!! Or the chairs are too tall. Its probably easier to fix the tables.
