I visited the place recently and I could not believe the amount of disrespect the server showed to me and my company.1. We sat on a table and the table we chose had some stains and when we requested a wipe she asked us to find a different table!2. There were few items missing from the menu than what they have online. On asking if there's more items missing she in a very illmannered tone said you've menu in front of you, you can look and find.3. To the end, entire time she was not wearing a mask!I would highly encourage the managemen to provide necessary training to staff for customer service.
I visted this restraurant couple of time i haven't seen her wearing mask at all. She needs to learn how to talk to customers. She needs attitude readjustent.
Awesome!! Today is the first day I tried their food must say perfect. One of my favourite places starting today. They are quick in service and got all my order right. Definitely a must try.
i order from them via skip these days. big delicious veggie samosas, i can't get enough of them!!! their paneer pakora is a delicious little snack i save to eat a little at a time. my go-to for takeout <3
we ordered delivery using their online site. amazing customer service. the food came hot and delicious! perfect portion sizes, great vegetable pakoras. delivery was quick as well. very happy with our experience and will definitely be ordering again!
Came here yesterday for lunch for the first time and was hoping to try out their buffet. However they only have the lunch buffet during week days. Arvind needs to write that on the outdoor huge buffet banner or people will arrive thinking the buffet is also during weekends. No problem, I was hungry and wanted some food so I went with the regular menu after some quick persuasion from the female server.Arrived right at 11:30 AM, I was the first and only customer in the restaurant up until I left around 12:30 PM or so but there was still no other customers however it was a slow Sunday so give or take all is fair.I haven't had Indian food in awhile since COVID-19 hit but I do love eating Indian cuisine here in GVRD.The female Indian server was excellent, prompt water refills (Maybe because I was the only customer) and we shared a great conversation. A truly genuine person in customer service. The restaurant interior is clean and simple, with Indian themed art decorated all around. There were maybe 1-2 tables not cleared but I believe they were from the employees themselves. Overall, a restaurant around 30-40 people capacity. The food is reasonable but I have had better Indian food within the same price range.I ordered 2 items - Paneer Paratha breakfast set ($10) and also their Lamb and Goat curry daily lunch combo special ($14).The Paneer Paratha was so-so - I would not order it again because of the lack of Paneer and also the Paratha itself being store bought and not made in house. I do not think it is even Paratha but was closer to whole wheat tortilla? I could be wrong as I do not usually order Paratha so to each their own. I am a lover of Raita and usually very lenient in rating Raitas. Arvind's Raita is a bit on the watery side however has decent flavors. The Goat and Lamb Curry set was good however the Goat portion was mostly just bone - no meat. Lamb portion was all meat. Ordered a medium spicy level and I believe it was at a good spice level. All in all, I believe Arvind has alot of potential because there are not many, if any, Indian buffets left in the area - the closest one I believe is Tandoori Flame and Desi Turka and Saffron no longer serve buffets. Although I did not get a chance at the buffet, I was comparing the single order menu to being a standard of what to expect on the buffet portion side - usually with single order menu being of higher quality so I can imagine the buffet will be just a notch or more below. I'm no picky eater though as price also comes into play and this place's pricing isn't the highest so you get what you pay for. However, it also isn't the lowest, maybe 10-20% priced above what it themselves are really worth in execution and quality.Would I return? For certain but next time it would be for the buffet ($12) because at $35 total with tip and taxes, one would be much better off eating at Tandoori Flame ($30 lunch with Tip and Tax) and a selection that is much, much greater than Arvind's - both buffet and regular menu selection.Arvind is not particularly good, but not bad either. I guess to be frank, not memorable but good enough for the occasional Indian food craving close to home. However, is "Good enough" good enough to survive in these days especially when there are so many nearby competitors? We will see. Arvind's is in a good location and the population of New West and South Burnaby is exploding. To conclude, although the server did verbally ask about the COVID-19 passport, she didn't actually visually check and confirm so just bear in mind for those of you who plan to come to eat here, be prepared for some patrons who may not be vaccinated.PS: The one thing that stood out, in a good way, was the pickled side on the Paratha set. I was not sure what it was made of but it had a nice bite to it and was unique.---UPDATE OCT 18th, 2021I tried out their buffet today. The tastes are the same. Great service as always and they check COVID passports now.The stand out here is their Ras Malai dessert.Come give them a try. Raised to 4 stars!
Fantastic food! Ordered through skip cause I couldn’t get out of the house today. Ordered the Lamb Vindaloo with lots of rice and Naan and all I can say is that I’m coming back for more tonight cause it’s that good! Big portions with tons of flavor and worth going back on a weekly basis if not sooner!
Nice place to visit and relax. Just felt like home.. Had a great time today..
Outstandingly delicious food. The best! I've been enjoying Arvind's food for a decade now. Very talented chef.
I cannot believe this passes as Indian Food! We lived in SE Asia for many years… this was painful and honestly we didn’t finish anything on our plates. We ordered in to our house, the butter chicken actually tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup and the giant dry chunks of chicken we inedible. The Bhuna lamb was so awful, dry and chewy we couldn’t even enjoy the attempted flavours of the dish. I am sorry, but this is not good Indian cuisine… never ever will we order from here again!!!
