Had a great night at the Oxy last night. Lots of fun with Karaoke and Todd DJ ing. Talented and fun staff made for a awesome night out. ?
First time going. Heard mixed reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Nice & clean & staff were friendly.
Steak sandwich was tough and not juicy and not med rare like I asked, closer to med well.Fries were only 1/2 cooked and limp, whitish looking.Garlic toast was flat and soggy like a dish cloth and only toasted on one side, other side of toast was like wet bread.Cook came out standing beside waitress after I finished and was looking directly at me from across the room as he commented about my bushy eye browes.This was insulting to me after he made such a horrible dinner.I don't return food unless it is off tasting.The waitress gave good service and offered to return the dinner but i don't like to waste food.I ate the steak even though it was like chewing leather.I will not be returning.
The Longwood IPA is not drinkable ,nice working men's pub ,I wish they would change to Wolf IPA.
I like this spot, has an old school dive bar kinda feel. Not too dive bar-ish, just dive bar-ish enough. Decent food. They serve legit 20 oz pints. I hate bars that call 16 oz. a pint. Server was very nice and friendly. Only server in the whole place, working the bar too, and still served everyone efficiently. I'd come back and drink with the locals.
Great local pub for a beer n a bite. I had the Thursday wings , 75c !! Lots of flavors . Loved it , local vibe. Old historic building
Love the atmosphere, great staff, I believe we'll keep it to a drinking establishment. Food was fine but nothing special.
Visiting chef from Tofino, just picked up the Reuben sandwich at 630 Halloween night, beautiful, great staff too, very friendly barmaid,Great homecut fries. I'm a lover of Ruebens, the mustard in the sandwich is the bomb, cheers Oxy

Good food, average prices and friendly staff, all in the oldest pub in Nanaimo! We visit regularly.
