Myself and my 86 year old father went to have dinner there tonight, as he went there last week and enjoyed the food and the fish tanks. Tonight tho, they would not allow him in as he doesn't have the Vaccine Passport QR code, as he doesn't have a smart phone. He had his physical vaccine card . We were told it wasn't good enough and he had to have a QR code to dine in their establishment!!!! NO WHERE on the front door or anywhere did it state that. Only a sign saying proof of vaccination required. Is a physical vaccination card not enough anymore? Especially since when he was there last week they didn't even ask him for proof!!!!!They have lost our business, we will happily drive the other direction to an establishment that respects this seniors patronage!
Slowest service ever. The place is disgusting, if you are going to have fish on display then the tank should be clean. I made the mistake of looking up at the air vents and they were filthy beyond belief. Said we needed one more minute to make a decision waited 30 minutes for the waitress to come back. Considering how long we waited for the food it should have been hot when it arrived, needed to send the waitress fact for butter and milk and jam. The food was even colder by the time we got butter for the toast.
This was the best breakfast I have had in a while, the food was lovely and the service was fantastic. Besides the old woman that watched us eat the entire time it was wonderful.
30 minute wait for a take out order for a truck driver that delivers your items so that everyone else can enjoy their breakfast. Not cool, zero stars if it were an option.

Arrived today Saturday Oct 02 had vaccine card and photo Id. Monday is start of qr code..still had everything needed to eat in..was refused service..I'm in Nanaimo for work weekly as well as my employees..this will not be my stop or any one of my 53 workers..great job Smitty's
Great food fairly quick service and I like the fish tank...
Great place for family breakfast, bring grandkids as they love the fish tanks and the menu for them. Staff are very good, great service and very pleasant. Prices are reasonable as well.
