Service was slow, eggs Benny not good for the cost , small eggs with very little hollandaise sauce. Would not go back for a meal
Today, July 30/22 I went for breakfast this morning and was greeted with a friendly smile, as usual. I ordered my usual, an omelette with shredded hash brown and easy cheese. Enjoyed my water and coffee. Then my omelette arrived. Don’t get me wrong, the chef always makes an excellent omelette and I always enjoyed it. But, this morning, I was thoroughly disappointed in this omelette I had a few bites and wasn’t pleased at all. It was greasy and not presented well as per before. I told the waitress that it was terrible and told her to be sure to let the cook know that I did not like it at all. You do better Ricky’s!!!!
The servers and front end staff were awesome. Unfortunately they don't get much support from the cooks. I've never had beef stroganoff that tasted like that before. They need to back off the dill. They replaced it with a sirloin steak. The cook also needs to check the charts and see what a medium steak looks like. The Ricky's I frequented in Regina were by far a better experience than Nanaimo.
Quite disappointed with breakfast today. Paid $16 for 2 small poached eggs 2 pieces of toast and a small serving of barely done shredded potions . Looking at all the other plates at other tables, it was pretty meager. Mentioned to our server, who was pleasant, but not until we were paying. It took a very long time (45+minutes) for that along with soup…, so not great overall -except tomato basil soup was yummy.
Worst meal ever. Took 45 minutes for simple scrabbled eggs came slimy raw. Pancake was cold and hard. Ordered bacon had to ask for it again by that time i just wanted to get going. When I ask for the bill and returned the food. Manger came to my table and was very gracious. The servers take the heat from customers, so i told my server it wasn't her fault. Does not change the fact that they need to put a fire under their cooks. There is no need to wait that long for food.
Last visit I had the turkey meal, no dressing, gluten sensitive, told that the gravy is gluten free! Party of 3 Chelsea was tried getting me a gluten free meal. Chef wouldn't let me have half chicken because it had gluten coating. No gluten free bread for onion soup. I didn't care for Buddha bowl
Well I think this is a good restaurant. I did have an issue with a sandwich that I had ordered twice. The first time I came in I ordered the Ruben Sandwich, it was great, thick stack of meat. The second time, about 3 weeks later, I ordered it again and there was only a very thin layer of meat, I was Very Disappointed with the sandwich. The fact that there was no Consistency in the product has made me rate this restaurant only 3 stars.Would I come back? Yes I would. My parties other food items was good and tasted good. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good family restaurant.
Good wasn't that great and it took a long time for our food to come out even though it wasn't very busy. My friends food was barely warm. Our server never stopped at our table to see if we needed refills on our water/pop. When I asked for more water when the food was served she never brought it to me. She didn't stop by for a quality check after the food was served as well, just stopped by after we done to see if we wanted dessert and then give us our bills.
Our server was sweet but over all experience was horrible we started off with a manager who looked flustered over having more then one big top. Then moved to getting the reservation name wrong. then chosing to tell one group they can't sit together but letting the other group with the same amount of people sit together on the otherwise of the restaurant my family and I were the group that got split up. Then there was the fact that they knew they was a young child there and acknowledged him by saying he counted as a person but not giving us a kids menu for him they took the time to set up a coloring mat and crayons but didnt give us a kids menu. then the time it took from ordering to actually getting the food was 1hr 22m. Then the plates were warm but some of the food was overcooked and cold then the rest were just cold. Had the manager glaring at us the whole time while we dealt with a fussy 1 year old because the family wasn't sitting together. Then when it came time to give a diaper change they didn't even have a proper place to do it just a granite table 3 to 4 feet off the ground. As sweet as the server we had was I for sure know that I will not be going there again. I've had better experiences at different Ricky's but I will not be going to this location ever again.
Well this is the second time I've had to write a negative review on this place. I never usually write reviews but this made me so angry. As per my previous review, we are loyal customers of Ricky's North. As a matter of fact this review is due to that loyalty. We understood that they were not punching the loyalty cards anymore but my mom (who is elderly and on a limited income) had a full one with ten meals on it and the next one was supposed to be free (within 10 dollars) She wanted to use it and treat us to our meal. The owner (Jim) would not honour the card! He said it had expired. There was absolutely no expiry indicated on the card! This was all communicated through the poor waitress at time of payment. He didn't even come out and face us himself. We thought it was all very petty. Not a good way to treat your loyal customers, Jim. We (my mom and I) still have two 10 dollar coupons (the $50 for $30, not loyalty) which we plan to use before the end of the year and then we will not go back. We will go somewhere that actually appreciates our business.
