Only being open for lunch twice a week, as though they were somehow being inconvenienced stinks of elitism.
We went for the deep fried Nanaimo Bar. Kids and Hubby and I loved it. We plan to go back again to try their other menu options. We also love their "No Discrimination" policy. Great Business to support if you are in the area. ❤️
Popped in for lunch, which was a Saturday Nephew Treat! Halibut are large fish and so was my portion of wonderful fish and chips! The halibut never disappoints! The fish stayed hot from the first taste to the last mouthful. Then on to dessert and the deep-fried Nanaimo Bar. Although decadent, you can still taste all the flavors in the Nanaimo Bar! Please don’t shy away from the coffee either as it’s a local company with smashing-good taste! All in all, a wonderful lunch made even more lovely by the knowledgeable lady who safely steered me from beginning to end! Thank you very much!
An all around positive experience.Something for every palette here. They even had Gluten free fish and chips and vegan options too!Don’t forget to save room for the deserts.Take a good look around at the decor, it’s fun and eclecticA large patio out front too!
Great food, awesome staff, and super fun atmosphere! So grateful for the gluten free options, the halibut fish & chips were delicious with the home cut fries and freshly made coleslaw!
Fish and chips!!! Delicious food and the most amazing twist was we had gluten-free fish and chips. I had not had fish and chips for over 10 years because I’m gluten free but this finest establishment caters to all diets! Great experience all around. Then those deep fried deserts!!! Whoa! Don’t forget to save room for those! Fun eclectic interior for all the pirates in your life!
Very friendly and welcoming staff. I ordered the cod fish and chips, and when it was brought out, they weren't satisfied with the size of one of the fish they served me so they brought out a second plate for free. So generous and cute, the first portion was actually more than enough for me.It feels like an old school diner inside with a pirate ship theme. Charming ambiance. Also right in front of a bus stop to the Departure Bay ferry terminal.
It’s hard to choose what’s better, the food(gluten free fish and chips), or the amazing customer service. Thanks for being just plain awesome!
I came for fish and chips and I was not disappointed. To my surprise they offered all you can eat cod fish and chips. I was even more excited !! Staff was great and welcoming. Food was delicious, did not taste heavy on the oil. The cod and the batter was tasty and the make vinegar came in a spray bottle which was awesome and cute in its own way.
Went here for an early evening meal. The restaurant is in a good location with on street parking close by. We were greeted and served by a sullen waitress. The interior of the diner was in bad repair. Our booth had rips in the cushion and the whole place lacked care. We had cod and chips, very expensive for a dinner which was basically un seasoned, bland and unappealing. Considering the sea is across the road, the fish was frozen. On further look, the windows are grimy, the electric outlets brown with dirt, dreadful decor. I would never eat here again. I am only surprised I wasn't sick.
