We had unwelcome experienced in this place,me and my three kid's had been there for lunch.,waiter looked like in a bad mood no hi, hello,or smile..waiting for a hot tea while waiting for our orders no hot tea at all..or offering water..but other guests served them a hot tea..after 5 minutes our order served asking for forks and spoon for my kids and waiter giving us putting on the table without covering tissue and he left his rude,no complaints about the place, food it was all good, even there's extra 5 dollars for a soup? before there no extra charges for it...I'm regular customer before I had 10x eaten in this place had good experienced. But now not coming back.I'll pay my bills and givingextra tips..
It's lemongrass & basil delights with portions to possibly pack to go! A local go to spot when I need the comforts of dine out. Fair pricing for quality and staff are always calm.
Consistently good! Quiet no frills place with incredibly fast service and hot tea!
I've been eating here for years and the food is consistently Great. The staff is friendly and store is cleanUsually half the cost of other takeout and twice as good
Expedient service, the food gave me mixed feelings. Great pho, however the summer roll with pork was little more than a 3x2 inch sliced ham, as then as lunch meat, with shed lettuce as filler with rice noodle. When I asked to have it taken away, the male who worked the kitchen seemed deeply offended, and continued to leer at us for the remainder of our stay; not a really friendly atmosphere. The girl who served us was very polite and accepted suggestions without prejudice. Would rate higher if not for these 2 hick ups - the pho it’s self was great, but I can’t help but think this host might have put something in ours.
As a take out customer only, I haven't been too impressed with the customer service. Quite cold in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurants. This past time, I had ordered extra meatballs with ny wife's choice of #3 on the menu. The receipt reflects I paid for extra meatballs. To my surprise, no extra meatballs when we opened the bag at home. With the cost of gas, definitely not driving across town to pick them up. Not terribly impressed.
I went to this restaurant over a year ago while there were still some restrictions such as a mask mandate. I went with family, and we were all ordered together. We decided we wanted to order some more things after our initial order, and in addition we requested some condiments and extra dishes that we didn't have on the table. The young lady that was helping gave us a very upset look and when she returned with our order she roughly laid our orders down on the table and said in a stern voice that because they wanted to reduce contact we were supposed to order everything in one order. Although I understand what she was saying, a main component of dine in is customer service so if they were so frightened of contact it would make more sense to just close down for the time being. I confronted her and told her that her behaviour was rude, she loudly said "I and the manager!" Causing everyone's heads to turn which embarassing. I mentioned to her that I didn't ask, she said loudly again "I am the manager!" I told her again that I didn't ask her that I was just telling her that she was being rude, she just rolled her eyes sighed and walked away. I repeat myself because I thought she misunderstood me but now it appears to me that she was letting me know of her position as a means of intimidation. I hope they got a new manager since then, but I haven't gone back since and I wish I made a review sooner. That fact that I'm writing this after so long shows just how bad of an experience it was.
This was my second time at pho boi in two years. I did not go for this long since the last time I went, the service was extremely unprofessional. This time I tried them once more, I was greeted by a very unfriendly staff member. My guest and I then waited for 30 minutes, we were one of two tables left in the restaurant. We watched the waitress take the order of the other table, and never returned to take ours. The restaurant was freezing with no heat on, so we decided to cut our losses and leave. We will not be returning.
Best spring rolls, really good broth, a bit on the pricey side and too much rice noodle to broth ratio. Still one of my favourite places for a nice hot bowl of pho in namaimo!
Average taste, the meat has gone a bit stale
