This was the most amazing restaurant. Wonderful service, friendly staff-the chefs said thank you as we left. The plating and food was incredible! Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was excellent. Service was great. They recommended us some rolls and it was great. A bit pricy but it was quality sushi from beginning to end. Some rolls tasted normal but that was just personal preference. It was my daughters bday and they gave her a free slice of yummy matcha cheese cake and sang her a song. Bill came out to be $201 but worth it in my opinion. Make sure you book in advance. It’s busy here for obvious reasons. Will come back.
Decided to get take out from here on our way to the cabin. We phoned our order in. Our first clue should of been that they disconnected us three times by accident. We were hungry and heard this place was good so we called back each time. When our order was finally placed they said pick it up in 15-20 minutes. When we arrived 20 minutes later they said it would be another 30 minutes for it to be ready. Not at all what they said earlier! Then 30 minutes later they said it was ready and they were packing it up,and asked us to pay. I paid and then waited another 30 minutes to get the food. One hour and twenty minutes from the initial call. When we ate it it was terrible. Gyoza was cold and rubbery and very small. The assortment of rolls was warm and did not taste fresh at all. We ate only a few and then threw it all out fearing we would get sick. Do yourself a favour, go to McDonald’s instead ! It’s cheaper ,fresher and you won’t feel like throwing up. Also every individual that came to the take out window that worked there was clued out!
The tropical salad was great and quite large for a starter. The rolls were beautiful, innovative and tasty. We have eaten sushi in many large cities with high rated sushi restaurants and this can stand among the better ones. Very glad we made it here.
Lives up to its name! The sushi did not disappoint. Considerable size of fish in each sushi roll and sashimi. The number of choices are amazing. We tried the so many different sushi and they were all amazing. Highly recommend. Get the mango roll if you are a mango fan. So delicious!
One of the best Japanese restaurants outside of Japan out there! The sushi’s were delicious with beautiful plating! Very creative and original, yet super tasty food! The service was also excellent, super friendly and helpful staff, offering us great recommendations since it was our first time visiting the area! We didn’t get to sit at the bar, but we saw the chef interacting a lot with the customers and he was super welcoming and we loved his energy! The vibe in the restaurant is definitely pleasant, having a chill casual environment while enjoying delicious fine Japanese sushi and seafood! If you are in Nanaimo, definitely give this place a try!
Best Japanese I've ever had. Delicious fresh food, knowledgeable server, passionate chef, beautiful presentation.The only way I could possibly think of improving my experience is with the addition of Japanese bidet toilets, but I understand that many people wouldn't agree with me!
Stopped for lunch based on reviews. Exceptional food and excellent service. Sashimi portions are large. And a few very unique versions of sushi! Don't hesitate.
We did the road trip across Canada from Ottawa, finally made it to Victoria. Read the reviews thought we’d check it out. We love sushi and have had a lot over the years. HANDS DOWN, best sushi I have ever had. We came here 3 nights in a row and didn’t bother trying other places for dinner. I highly recommend ordering their flaming viper. It’s phenomenal. If we ever go back to Victoria, 100% going back. Will be suggesting this place to everyone.
100% recommend! Staff was awesome. Food was to die for! Everything was just so good. We had hella leftovers and even after sitting in the fridge, it was really yummy still the next morning ?.
