What an all around awful experience. My partner and i came in for lunch around 2pm we observed 1 or 2 other tables with customers and the rest of the restaurant was completely empty, which my partner and I agreed was a bonus as we figured it would take less time to get our food. Boy, was I wrong. We were seated by the bartender and given menus, then told our server would be with us shortly. I spent 20 years in the restaurant industry as a Chef and Restaurant manager even doing a few years managing a restaurant in the Cara Foods family. As we were walked to our table at the far back corner of the empty restaurant I couldn't help noticing how all of the upholstery on the seating in all of the booths was in terrible shape, most bench seats with large tears and rips, we both decided on our meals and patiently waited for a server. As we waited my partner pointed out that every single TV screen on the ample amount of flat screens through out the restaurant were in need of repair or replacement. As we continued to wait I noted 4 servers and 1 bartender. More than enough staff to cover the 3 tables (counting ours) seated in the restaurant. After about 20minutes 2 more tables came in, a 4 top and a 2 top, both tables were seated with menus, then served drinks and food that they were able to order from the server, each served by a different server no less. All this happend while we watched from our table with still 0 service. After a full 45 minutes of being ignored (made eye contact with at least 2 of the 5 servers but they seemed pretty busy not serving anyone) We got up slowly walked across the still mostly empty, except for staff, restaurant and went to a lovely local Cafe and enjoyed some great food and service. I used to enjoy the montanas experience but I guess that Era is as gone as there upholstery, flat-screens and service.
From previous reviews of Montana's and our continued saga over steak dinners, their Manager, Rick called me and we discussed what had taken place over those few visits. I am thankful to say that Rick, allowing us to try again, sent a gift certificate to Don. I never, ever prepare a review expecting something in return We did go again after a few months and both Don and Kelly ordered their steak dinners. I ordered my usual chicken dinner. Our server, Karli, was very pleasant and helpful. She actually brought crayons to the table for the two 'kids'. When the meals arrived, it was a bit of a shock to see. Kelly and Don ordered the very same meal, both medium/rare and they got two very different steaks. Don's was appearing to be larger than the 7 oz. steak ordered and Kelly's was appearing to be a different piece of meat and less than the 7 oz. ordered. We asked Karli to return Kelly's steak as it was cooked medium and not medium rare. By the time it came back, both Don and I had finished our meal. Kelly said the cook on the steak was better than the first one, but both of them said the meat was under seasoned. When Karli came back to the table to take the remaining plate from the table, we asked to see Rick (he was there). He acknowledged the situation in the kitchen and apologized. We asked about the Churro's for dessert and they are no longer on the menu. We know Montana's is a family restaurant and famous for their ribs and we wish them the very best. We can hardly wait for the Brisket to return to the menu. In the meantime, we will continue our enjoyment of local restaurant visits in the area as we have no qualms paying for quality meals.
Good reservation experience, good hostess greeting on arrival and quickly exported to our table. Good server and trainee. Good beef ribs and cheque arrived quickly on request. Overall great experience and appreciate BCAA card discount.
All you can eat ribs on Wednesday! Food was fantastic and service was great.
Quality has gone down somewhat. We had steak and 2 of tgree of us were not impressed. The baked potato tasted more kije it was a boiled potato. The onion rings were soft vs usual crispy.
These pictures show the first time I went to this place in July . It was a great day. The food tastes absolutely wonderful, the staffs are awesome and kind. I will definately be back for more steaks ?
Koral K made our dinner an exceptional experience on 10-June-2022 7:45 pm Tbl 92/1. My standard order is beef rib because it’s tender and is on my meal plan for weight lifting. This time the meat was over cooked, grissly and had way too much fat. Just the cut this time. Very rare this occurs. I could only eat 20 % of it and left the rest on the plate. I had the mini ceasar side salad and the side baked beans. She noticed instantly I basically ate sides for dinner & had the entirety removed off the bill. She offered to get me something else. She was warm, courteous and very attentive to our table. We were in good hands. She got fresh drinks. What a professional! Such a good experience. We will be back because she turned that situation around! Thank you Koral K! ?
The service was great and the food was awesome it's our go to place to eat . The ribs are to die for the service has always been great
This was our first time dining at Montana's and we all enjoyed our food, we mostly had the ribs and they were good. It did take awhile to get our food but our server was a good communicator so we knew they were backed up but at least she kept on top of the drink refills .
We generally don’t eat in but do take out a fair about. The take out service is good. They give you a time estimate that can be relied on and the good is hot and all the special requests are correct which is unusual in my experience. There is also a varied menu which means that the eclectic tastes in my household can usually find something to eat. I would recommend Montanas for good medium priced food.
