We stayed at the motel next door which advertises a 10% discount so had dinner at the restaurant. The seniors dinner meal would be good value if the quality was better. The Salisbury steak was an overcooked frozen patty that was hard dry & tasteless. BBQ ribs were decent. The veg was boiled to oblivion & tasteless. Pie was tasteless, frozen & the quality you’d get in any grocery store. The soup and the lovely young lady that was our server were the best parts of the meal. Staff & ambience were outstanding but I would expect better prepared or homemade food for the price
Was on the busy side and only a couple waitresses so service was a bit slow but the server was great. Willing to wait a bit for good service.
Found this place by chance as we've never been to Nanaimo before. Wanted all day breakfast and MGM popped up in our Google search. Well, we were not disappointed. Breakfast was hot and delicious, and portions were plentiful. Very nice server who gave us lots of tips for visiting in and around the area. Highly recommend and we just may be back, if our trip allows!Edit: last day on the island and returned for late breakfast on our way out. Again, we were not disappointed. Great food and great service!
The food was pretty good as well as the service, but I was forced to put headphones in and listen to music on my phone. Public establishments should not force you to listen to Christian Soft-Core Devotional music at a volume level which is hard to ignore.This addition is in response to the comments made by the restaurant. I was there in the from 5:33pm-6:20pm which is several hours before your closing time, and seems to cast doubt upon your explanation.
It's fine. Gourmet dining, it is not, but it's decent enough.This is a great place to bring your 70+ year old parents, as the food is mild and free from any spice/strong flavour. Akin to something you'd eat in a hospital while you were convalescencing. And the 50's era music they play will make them nostalgic.
Great food at a great price. Friendly staff and welcoming owners. After a week on the coast we were so please with the prices, the service and the food. Most certainly recommended.
Definitely enjoyed my visit. While here I had the crispy chicken w/ fries and an iced tea. My other half had the chicken tenders w/ poutine made with shredded cheese. Great service by host, server, and cook. All the guests were happy when I was here. Definitely recommend these if you're craving some chicken. I will be back again & try to remember to take a photo of our plates!

My sister and I stopped in Nanaimo to have dinner on our way through. This place was visible from the road and looked busy. so we stopped.The funky lady who took our order was lovely and we had a conversation about how everyone.was on Keto these days. She had a lovely young man shadowing her, he will make a good server.The hostess was beautiful and friendly.We ordered a ceaser salad to share to go with our individual meals and this is what we got for 14.00.My sister's cordon blue was cool in the center.I had a seafood plate. I didn't want fries so ordered extra veg. And got a few more carrots with the odd sliver of Bok Choy and zucchini thinly sliced scattered in.Our salad was so jam packed with croutons and barely any lettuce?!We loved the atmosphere. All ages of clientele.all demographics.Maybe we will just stop for soup next time.
