Just casually walking in Downtown Nanaimo and decided to order our supper here. The owner was great and cool!I ordered Tandoori chicken, butter chicken and a soup. The portions were big and they’re authentic! Would definitely come back and recommend this!
Gross cuts of chicken, sauce lacks flavour, the salad was minuscule. Please don’t waste your money here and check out some of the other Indian restaurants here in Nan.
At first we were concerned with the mixed reviews but we decided to give this place a go. We got the vegetable biryani, paneer tikka masala, honey garlic chicken, rotis and raita. The food was delicious and the servings were large so we took leftovers home which tasted even better the next day.The service was fast and good, the server was friendly. However we are unsure about the nature of tips due to other reviews stating that there is no tip pool and it apparently goes into the owners pocket. So we were reluctant to tip.Overall we would recommend this restaurant.
Whole family loves this place. Service is great and food is even better. Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Vegetable Korma, Mango Chicken, the saffron rice, and the onion naan and garlic naan. We've been eating their delicious food for years.
Made a large order for work.Food wasn't only mediocre, not at all tasting fresh...I can tell how fresh it wasn't by the large chunk/corner of plastic bag in my curry. I didn't get beyond 3 bites (before discovering clear plastic bag corner piece) before I knew this meal wasn't going to be great based on its lack of great flavor.I can't fathom a reason to return,or to suggest this establishment for my next workplace lunch meeting.
First time ordering from here. My husband and I ordered the butter chicken, rice and garlic nann bread.The butter chicken was bland, the garlic nann bread tasted funny. We had to pay extra for rice, it should be included. It was very expensive...The portions were very small..If I could give them zero stars I would. I would never recommend this place and will not be back...we only ordered from here because they were close to our hotel and we were in a pinch.
This is the first time i have asked the restaurant not to pack the leftovers. Food was of such poor taste. The hot wings we ordered was very sour and we waited for the restaurant special fried rice disappointment again it was so sour we asked for yogurt to cover the sour taste . Top of that attitude of the waitress was terrible. I would say this should be the last option on the list if you want to try Indian food in Nanaimo.
Not the greatest Indian food I've had, we threw out $60+ In food, the nann bread had a weird taste to it, the butter chicken didn't even taste like what it should. When we got to our room we realized they didn't give us any cutlery or napkins, was really dissatisfied. I would never go to this place again and wouldn't recomend it to anyone. Had high hopes from looking at the reviews and photos.. but it was a bad choice..
Worst Indian I've ever had. Gross.Butter chicken tasted like tomatoe soup with stale chicken. I ate a couple bites and that was hard to do.My husband ordered the lamb biryani and said it was ok.We got it to go and didn't get any utensils... not very easy to eat while on the road. Garlic naan was the best part, and even that wasn't great.Very disappointed.
The food is 3-4+ stars depending on the dish and the night. But, it's overpriced, they have some sneaky business practices that I find frustrating, and they tend to get some things on your order wrong (twice in a row I've ordered 'medium' spice level, with extra notes on that front, and received it without any spice).
