Have you ever enjoyed a pub so much you considered asking of it was for sale? This is one of the best pubs my wife and I have ever tried. Between delicious food, unbelievably good beer and friendly staff I would say you are missing out if you don't stop in for Pale Ale, a bowl of chowder, a pice of nanimo bar cheese cake, not to mention a game of pool!

Today we visited after having had to miss for a long time because of Covid. We used to SO enjoy pretty much everything. But it's different now.....no lamb burgers, the nachos were the most lightly dressed we have ever had anywhere - cheese? What cheese? Had to really look to find it. Beef dip...boring and flavourless. Carbonera - not really carbonara. So disappointing. Will think twice before we head back here. It won't be our first choice. Not so much now.
It was a special day for me and the usual 6 went to dinner. What a disappointment! I used to consider the Dinning Room up stairs to be comfortable with a great menu and class!Three meals were terrible with schnitzel being deep fried, the short ribs were almost all fat, there was nothing even close to high end food. The menu upstairs is the same pub menu from downstairs. Poor choices, only steak was a steak sandwich. Extremely poor food quality.. won’t recommend the “dinning room “ soon. After 21 years still looking for a decent upscale restaurant in Nanaimo.

We sporadically arrived at Longwood Brew Pub as the restaurant across the street had a long wait. It was clear there was no room for us at Longwood but the wonderful hostess seemed to huddle with the manager for a while, and they pulled some strings to squeeze us in on short notice. It was a great table in front of a beautiful fireplace. The server was fantastic and the food came out very quickly. The chicken wings appy was perfect, and our food - the Carbonara and Halibut and chips - was top quality. Loved it. Left a big tip as they deserved it. A+
Perhaps the best brewery in Nanaimo? I would say so! Visit them for amazing locally brewed beer and lip smacking food on the side!Regardless of what you order, please remember to ask for ‘MacKenzie’. She is simply the BEST hostess.
Atmosphere is very rustic cabin, place is hoppin' and the staff are attentive. They did a nice job of balancing the pub vibe with family friendly. The crab cakes, Irish red ale chowder and the pilsner will keep us coming back. I think they take resos, were lucky enough to get in without one around noon. By the time we left at 1:30 there were no free tables and folks were waiting. Recommend a reso if you can get one.
