I came here for mother's day dinner and it was fantastic. All three of our meals were delicious. The wait was a little long but it was mothers day so I get it. I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries and they were so good. We also got the brownies with bacon ice cream and the ice cream pie. Both were amazing. The server was super sweet. Definitely worth the money for a special occasion, would recommend making a reservation

We waited 45 mins for a table, but the exceptional service and amazing food made up for the wait and then some. The Firehouse Grill is widely regarded as the best restaurant in all of Nanaimo. And it's a title very well-deserved.

Went to Firehouse Grill for lunch. The place was not busy however I could see a lot of take out orders moving out of the kitchen. The place used to be a firehouse, hence the name. So inside is all brick walls and a very high ceiling. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was very basic. I must say, the server said they are famous for their sushi but I wanted something warm. I had the fish and chips and the salt N' Pepper ribs. I asked for extra crispy fish but it was not, in fact there batter was still runny in some bites. The ribs were tasty but very salty. Both dishes had very tasty sauces.

Consistently incredible food, awesome staff, and great selection of sushi and other items. This is a great place to take a group of people as there's such a range of offerings. Staff are accommodating of special requests and food sensitivities. Lots of vegan and gf options. My favourite fusion sushi by far. Highly recommended!

Went with our little family last week and it was great. Rolls and salads were delicious and I enjoy how many Island craft beer options they have. Server was very attentive and was great with our little one. Will be back again soon.

Stopped by for drink and appetizer- very busy! Amazing sushi menu. I have never tried it.. but my kids love it. Can't wait to bring them here! they live in Squamish- will have to have a day trip on Ferry from Horseshoe bay to Departure bay, Easy parking on street right in front of place ( 2 hours )on street in front of place. I had crab dip with homemade chips- delicious! So much crab and cheese. Did take out chicken sandwich- delicious. Close to BW where I stayed! Shout out to Mike owner & Sonya- bartender- so welcoming so happy to be able to get a spot there! Also look at Sonya's place - Nanaimo cafe on Front street- going to open mic night tonight- so excited to celebrate my last night in Nanaimo!

The food was delicious! Contemporary interior that is sharp, even if it doesn't look like it from the outside. We had a very friendly young server. The food was prompt and yummy.

We visited here for the first time and really liked the food. The miso soup was the first thing that came out and it was so completely flavourless that I was worried about the rest of the meal. Everything else was flavourful and perfectly seasoned. The kids meals were a big hit and I was happy to see they included salmon, cucumbers and avocado. I recommend the crab cakes and seafood jambalaya. Definitely will be back.

A very nice old restaurant in great condition offering a variety of grilled meals besides the burgers and pasta. Craft beer is also available in addition to an excellent customer service. Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Nanaimo.

Fire House is a must visit. Unique Japanese and Western infused menu, super cozy dining, and friendly wait staff. Contemporary restaurant in a building full of history. I enjoyed the black and blue tatake tuna and crab stuffed avocado. Yum!
