I'm not sure why I hadn't eaten here in the 12 years I've been in Nanaimo. The food and menu was excellent and the service was good. Nice patio and atmosphere.
I was not expecting how good this place was. Samantha is one of the friendliest servers I have ever had the pleasure of having been served by. What a delight. And the food was absolutely delicious. The Butternut Ravioli with Prawns and the Cajun Chicken with Creole butter were both outstanding. Definitely going back!!
I have a narcoleptic alert dog and they informed me I couldn’t bring her in with me. Nor could she been on the patio outside. Guide dogs have the same rules. If I could put negative stars I would I am disgusted
Perfectly done steak and tasty dessert made my day! The waiter Dylan was attentive and pleasant and made me feel welcome. Really appreciate the great service and will highly recommended this place.
Came here to celebrate with my wife. She ordered the steak medium rare and it came out well done. When we brought it up they said she ordered it well done. I ordered the burger and the meat patty is tiny on that burger. This place is not worth the top dollars they charge here. Plus this place is full of stuck up folks. I am not going to be coming back here.
Mmm mmm goodness! I ordered a tofu bowl and I generally don't eat tofu, but the pictures of this dish online looked amazing. So I thought I would give it a try and am so glad I did. This dish was a bit spicy, but not too spicy, had the perfect amount of rice (not packed in as a filler) and a colorful array of fresh vegetables. I would definitely recommend this dish if you don't mind not having meat.It was quite busy, we but didn't wait too long for our food and service was great.Presentation is everything! Definitely worth the 5 stars!
This restaurant has never disappointed me. Its meals, dessert, drinks, and the service staff have always been excellent.
The biggest complaint from this visit is regarding the Spaghetti Portfolio. We ordered this new dish and another to share as we had to ordered the Spaghettini with jumbo prawns several in the past and enjoyed it as the prawns were huge and tasteful. Well the dish shows up and it has what I would call maybe medium shrimp, not prawns, that were absolutely tasteless. When the server placed the plate I asked if it was sposed to have jumbo prawn and the answer was " I don't think so". The server left and we split the dishes and I looked up the menu which clearly stated Jumbo Prawns. After some time server returns and I tell my concerns, the response was that they were jumbo so I disagreed and asked for the manager to which they insisted they were actually jumbo prawns because that is what is supplied. I asked if they knew what jumbo prawns were and the answer was yes, I asked if these were jumbo prawns and all I got was, this is what they serve. They offered me more prawns but I denied as they didn't actually have prawns and served shrimp. For reference a jumbo prawn would be the size of a large thumb and also have the tail attached, these were half the size of a baby finger and curled. So they stuck to their guns insisting they serve jumbo prawns so you all have been warned. They did knock off the dish but to have to argue this was a good way to ruin a meal. The other part of this is the condition the the restaurant interior. Unfortunately what used to be an upscale place to dine in now beginning to look rundown. The black paint around the bases of the booths need painting and have for some time. The doors to the patio could use a good cleaning and the carpets are looking stained and in need of a cleaning. We had noticed all this at a prior visit so is not a result of the food issue. Unfortunately the one restaurant that we had been telling friends was our go to dependable place has fallen off the list. Looks like they're cheaping out and ripping off customers now.
Super disappointed with our experience here. The food was terrible (millionaires streak isn’t worth a Nicole) and the service was fast food caliber. Really a shame.
Spent my 55th Birthday here with my wife. We had a new waiter. He did a pretty good job. Just needed to make the rounds a little more often. A little more training all good. Our meal was cooked perfectly. Got a slice of key lime on the house for my bday very nice of them. We started with a tuna stack, Steak and mushrooms, and Hunter chicken.
